My friend hit R6 a week before me even though we started at the same time and kept doing full rare clears etc.
He was getting purple rep items more often and that led to him getting it a week earlier than I.

Casuals didn’t cap out too quickly in 9.0, 9.0 just lasted too long.
By the time a casual could get fully upgraded covenant gear, people who raided and did M+ or even rated PVP had fully decked out multiple characters with much higher ilvl gear than the covenant system offered.
I capped out at as soon as 197 honour gear unlocked. That was pretty early on.
In BfA I was doing Conquest gear through warmode and casual PvP for a lot longer.
U not done untill u got that paragon mount, got mine on second box from codex just keep going

Not really, fully upgradeable non-rated PVP gear was unlockable pretty late in compared to how raid / M+ / rated PVP were dishing out max lvl gear from expansion launch. It was about renown 30 or something if I recall right before you could get the full upgrade option for non-rated gear.
There’s two in the death advanced rep, I’ve only got one of them so far lol. Not sure about the codex guy, just got my first box of him and nada.
I have so much archivist research that I can’t spend on anything useful that I used it to buy all the missing legendary memories. I don’t need them… I just bought them cuz I wanted to spend it.
I got everything, i just go to korthia to do renown quest weekly, feels good

I’m only doing it for the paragon mounts, the gear is trash lvl and will be even more so when 9.2 drops. Once I’ve got them all, I’m out for good from there.

So casual, should get chores? Why not content?
In BfA, casual players got Heroic raid ilvl Conquest gear that was worth filling the weekly Conquest cap for about four months. Nothing like that in SL.

I am casual player, I want to be able to gear up over time with content I enjoy. SL isn’t giving me that, my sub expires in 6 days.

Ya it could be done a lot better.
From casual gear upgrades being few and far between and the rest gated behind renown or rep tiers, SL has not been casual friendly. It’s a lot worse than BFA in that respect.

I have terribly bad luck when it comes to paragon mounts, but it’s not like I’m going to stop going there. I gemmed up some gear then spent the rest of my currency on upgrading conduits. Many more to go. So I’ll be going back for some time

you dont “need them” unless you are cutting edge raider or pushing really high m+
you want them .

thats what mmorpgs are all about
not about runign the same instance 100ths time just 10 secodns faster then previous run
conduits upgrades drop too from adamant vault. if you really cared you would get at least couple of upgrade by now.

I do find it rather daft that anyone has to argue need/want in a game.
You don’t need to game. There are very few things in life you technically actually need to live.
However in the sense of WoW you do need the reputation to unlock/gain access to those upgrades.

i agree that SL is completly devoided out of content for casual people.
but moving gear from r6 to r4 wouldnt magicaly make it as content - you woudl jsut have them by now and compleing that you are stuck on 233 and there is no content for you to get more.
Korthia sucks - there is no content there just some rares mushrooms and nests .
it is garbage not content - agree
but instead telling blizzard how bad korthia is you blame all problems on gear behing behind r6.
there should be much more content there lettign you get to rank 6 - thats the gist of problem

if grind is abysmaly bad designed - then complain about the design of such grind - not about grind itself .
for the record i agree that grind in korthia sucks badly
but is not fault of r6. its fault of korthia behing joke excuse of content not good content.
That was actually helpful, but not in the way you might have thought.
I had gotten the paragon mount from NF and Maldraxi, but kept failing to obtain one from the ascended or venthyr. Turns out I’ve been hitting my ahead against a brick wall, they don’t have one. Lol.
