The best solution is to force faction balance with faction specific queues
make AV last long again, like the old 1-2 day AV’s.
sadly thats to late now and theyll need to make new servers starting fresh again if they want to do this.

The mantra had actually changed on day 2 of bg, the average horde mind is just…slow
I’m actually surprised those chimps even figured it out at all. I guess two weeks of spoonfeeding them it here in these very forums did the trick.

How do you “make” it? AV lasted that long because people generally had no clue of what to do beside zerging across the map. How would you make it last as long now? Make people forget how to play it?

it was actually an older version than whats in the game right now.
there was way more mobs and harder ones like korrak (removed around patch 1.10)

if you google the first AV versions youll see the diffirence.
I do remember pre nerf av, just the difference would be minimal with today’s understanding of the battleground and average knowledge of the game especially for the pve part. Adding NPCs in the field of strife wouldn’t make games last 2 days anyway

The problems OP is describing just highlight one very important issue:
“PvPers” DO NOT like PvP, they like honor. This was seen back in phase 2 as the servers with overwhelming majorities on one side made the game intolerable for the side with fewer players.
“Hardcore PvPers” seem to have no problem botting and playing PvE just as long as it gives them ranks. Horde players are now all suffering because of the queues and the bots. Both of these problems were helped by Blizzard’s complete and utter refusal to help the side in need.
Alliance players didn’t get any help when the mindless mongloids from Horde side were afk camping every boat and flypath just because they had the majority. Now, Horde players won’t get any help because these same mongoloids are botting and making the ranking process even harder for their own faction. These very same players do not give a Blizzard about the Horde and they would have picked Alliance and did the same bs if the other side provided the same benefits.

The best balance would be to nerf the op racials and give out free faction change for that patch so those who joined teh horde just for the op racials woudlnt fill the forum with cry posts.

Racial doesn’t matter in large scale PvP. Racial are overpowered in arena (BC/WOTLK).
Racials are matter the horde faction is twice as big as the alliance because of that. And it does matter in largescale too if you cant cc the healers.

This is untrue. The 4th kill is 25% honor. The 5th kill is 0% honor. They did it because they are jerks. They did it for no in-game benefit. Anyone who spent more than 15 minutes trying to prevent a group entering a dungeon and didn’t stop to think that it was pointless is not only a jerk but a fool.
Anyone who went to WS or Silithus to gank hunters trying to do their epic quests, the same.
Not to mention those with two accounts (or worse, friends accounts) who ran lvl 1 ghosts to BRM to monitor where alliance were ressing: insufferable people not even their mothers’ love.
Another lie in your post is that the Alliance also did that to the horde when they were on a majority server. Show me a single post created by a hordie on an Alliance majority server explaining how they couldn’t play the game at all for DAYS AND WEEKS and I will apologise.

Something most want to go for PvP and away from AV. From the overall census what i have read here.
I have to call horde tears on this. Even though your post is not disingenuous. I’m sorry.
And here’s why: For all of vanilla and up until I joined premades, AVs were 5% enjoyable. They were pure hell the other 95% of the time. Can you imagine playing with another 39 people who were so bad that their win rate was only about 10%? Headless chickens, low morale and many other factors.
This conclusion to your post makes it seem like the only way you can have fun in BG is to steamroll the puny alliance. Somehow I wouldn’t find that fun past the first 20 or 30 games. It would bore me to death and I’d go find some challenges elsewhere.
Now that my win rate is about 40% AV has become far more enjoyable for me - even though I wont play much after getting exalted on all 3 toons.

I agree with a lot of points in your post.
However, I must say that the 10% games where you are against non-premade truly sucks on the Alliance side! We always have about 10-12 honor leeches, sometimes get in minutes after the BG has started and usually have a lot of slow mounts (since epic mounts will be in premades).
However, the Rush B(oss) mentality lies not on the playerbase but on Blizzard choosing the nerfed AV imo. I think it was to be expected that the players would min-max honor/hour since the grind for top ranks is to intense and that people usually takes the path of least resistance.
I played AV in Vanilla in the last patches (1.11+) and also quite a bit through TBC.
The “premade”-addons were already a thing back then and all warmasters could easily be tanked by our AQ40 geared tanks and the boss could simply be mowed down. Same goes for the TBC variant.
