The biggest issue with M+

After all the nerfs you have people doing +10 and +11 who barely know anything… Going even higher to find the “good” people is not really realistic. Season is basically kinda dead at the current state.

The explanation has been presented hundreds of times: Because nothing up to that point has forcibly taught players that they need to play around enemy mechanics. In the overworld anything designed for soloing is teaching players that if you can’t do it at one point, just come later when you are more powerful. And at the same time everything designed for grouping is designed so that it can be pretty much solo’ed except with longer time spent on it. Very few exceptions exist in the overworld, World Bosses being one of those.

The game needs a massive overhaul of how it increases its difficulty and how it tries to teach players to overcome the difficulties:

  • Enemies in the overworld and even in campaign quest need to have casts that must be interrupted or otherwise they heal that enemy back up, and not casts that simply deal a negligible amount of damage. It needs to teach players that if they do not interrupt certain abilities they will be banging their heads against a wall instead of outright killing them and pretty much telling them “Come at a higher item level”.
  • The same thing needs to happen with mechanics that the player is supposed to avoid or work around in a specific manner (dispel, touch someone else, push a level etc). The entire concept of “make everything either instantly kill or gravely wound” is bad design and only makes sense for Soulslike games where players have active dodge and parry abilities. Failing mechanics in WoW should not wipe the group or a player, but it should be punishing enough to be noticeable without however interrupting play.

ofc its dead - if you put mythic gear on the level that portals are its kinda killing all the point of farming m+

10s are rather faceroll at this point.

Because Blizzard tried doing something, and introduced another thing that completely bonked the first…

They introduced a key squish, meaning people would ideally spend more time in M0, then M2 etc. etc… But we saw people going blind into +5, keys that maybe were above the experience all together… But how? Delves.

While I like the idea of Delves, the super accessible hero track gear took that whole key squish and dumped it. People outgeared M+ so fast that their gear carried them and got them invites. So yes, some people were carried in +5 because they went in blind, and as they got the score, people assume they know mechanics etc.

So I really do hope they make Delve gear the same as pvp… Let it scale in open world and Delves, but let it fall down to baseline 593 or whatever it was this season whenever entering Dungeons / Raids.

This however is to me very bleh… So many people have so many different wishes of BL… I had a tank who wanted BL first pack of Dawnbreaker… I´ve also had tanks scream when BL wasn’t used at pack X or boss X… So if you want BL at specific times, it takes 2 seconds to write it. Don’t expect everyone else, specially when pugging to know what route and what strats you want emposed.

Cus even as a long time healer, I can’t even be sure due to so many ideas and wishes.

Been losing it since 3 exapnsions on a row now. I don’t really have the patience to wait in long DPS queues, so I keep going back to tanking lol.

But even then, something still feels off. It’s not that people are not playing well, I think I just lost my drive that I used to have, and I often find myself tilting for minor things. Mayhaps, I just got burnt out.

I do not see myself pushing towards 3k like I used to. So the issue is certainly in you. Take a break, or switch your roles, or try something new, like PvP for exmaple, there is a solo q RBGs.

Same here. I lost the desire to push to 3k to be honest.

Simply put, the completion rate of dungeons is simply too low to feel rewarding at all. WAY too many depletes. WAAAAAAAYYYYY too many homework keys. I am so sick of doing 11s. You have no idea.

Basically, in the past I was in this exact situation when I was 2 to 3 key levels bellow the Pros. That was sort of my “limit” of skill and dedication. And it took me 3/4 months to get there at a rate of ~ 5 timed keys per week.

But this season, with the difficulty wall at a 12… you get to that situation in 1 month time… and I still have 4 months of “depleting keys” to go. It drains my excitement to think about that to be honest.

It is funny cause even MDI played are 9-11 keys.
Level 12 affix is a completely useless wall and they know it.

Like who cares if players end up pushing 18 or 22, the 12 affix is not needed, majority of people wont bother past 10/11 anyway for their weekly

Yeah i am now also getting to that 12-wall. With a premade (i am playing like once a week with) we are slamming 11’s and get slammed in 12’s. For the first couple 12’s it is funny and stuff but it is getting old really fast. Where is the +11.5 keylevel…

15s death penalty makes it a nightmare. I got ksm and gave up cos I Cba dealing with that bs in pugs

You now get 6 deaths for free though. When you wipe a couple of times you should fail the timer, imo.

In high keys sure. 10+. Below that a couple wipes shouldn’t kill your key

Wiping a couple of times is just failing the challenge.
I did a +5 mists yesterday on my mistweaver. It was a random group where we +2’ed timed a +3 dungeon and i got them into running the next key allthough the group was scared. We wiped 2 times on the guessing game because they killed the wrong clone. And still we timed it.
You should not time keys where you full wipe multiple times, completely failing boss mechanics.

Lenient timers are fine. Completely failing a dungeon should not upgrade your key. Has nothing to do with +2 or +10 or +15.
