So, in 8.2 - we’ve got Sunreaver Magi who are working with Sylvanas, whereas once Azshara is dealt with, Lor’themar goes to join Baine, Saurfang and Thrall to overthrow Sylvanas.
I wondered, where do your Blood Elf or even, Horde characters, sit on this? Are you team Sunreavers, since Jaina did cull some of the populace, or team Lor’themar?
Or do your characters question why the Sunreavers are choosing vengeance now when Aethas was already accepted back into the Kirin Tor fold and joined the Tirisgarde? Not that my characters do this, oh no…
A good question.
My Blood Knight that I barely RP’ed but plan to in the future - is a Sin’dorei diehard.
Yet she does not like Lor’themar - but hates Sylvanas even more.
She’d probably, help Lor’themar. Discipline - duty first, vengeance later!
Seriously? I’m not sure, I suspect my mage would be team Sylvanas because she WAS a Sunreaver and she was there when it happened. She left the Sunreavers because they rejoined Dalaran back in Legion and she couldn’t let it go.
Everybody else? I really don’t know what they’ll do.
We don’t know if the Sunreavers as a whole side with Sylvanas or it was really just the case of that single Magister and his mates. It seems a little odd for the Sunreavers as a whole to side with the crazy undead mass murderer because “revenge” instead of the Blood Elf leader who saved them from Dalaran, gave them sanctuary, and helped them recover and regain their strength and composure.
Also if they didn’t turned on him when he co-operated with Jaina on the Isle of Thunder, why would they turn on him now? Sylvanas is far from the better option. But honestly it’s more a Sunreaver RPer’s choice.
Lor’themar is the most rational, composed, and competent leader in the Horde since TBC times (excluding Sylvanas… she’s “evul” yes, but she is good at what she does). For BElf RPers to say “Lor’themar sucks” makes little sense.
I’ll wait and see how this all plays out. Not gonna jump to conclusions and hop on the “Rebellion” bandwagon until actual information on all this stuff comes out in 8.2.5. Regarding the guild, the Ravens are Farstriders of Quel’thalas. We will do our duty to the people and the Sun Throne, that’s where our allegiance is.
In short, My Blood Knight hates Sylvanas, and would stand with his people. He’d value their protection above all and would see to it. Basically he’d side with Lor’themar. (Even i don’t like Lor’themar OOC myself, but the char is more that side.)
Although for him it is more twisted and complicated. But in general it’s that.
Despite her being a Death Knight, mine will remain loyal to the Quel’Thalas she died protecting. She may not agree with Lor’themar Theron’s choices, but she doesn’t disagree remotely strongely enough to defy his decision.
He is Regent Lord. If he says jump, she will ask how high.
Between Sylvanas and Saurfang, I’m surprised you’re not yet eager to accept as one valid leader.
But to actually contribute, I suspect elves overall are going to follow Lor’themar, unless they have personal grievances as of late, just like the Sunreavers.
That’s my whole point. We don’t know how it will really pan out. Maybe Sylvanas will do something even the most hardcore loyalists can’t turn a blind eye to like they’ve done so far. Who knows!
The thing that concerns me though, is that we haven’t seen any story for those that chose to side with Sylvanas. It’s all been rebelling against her.
I mean, I chose to side with her on my Nightborne Hunter (mainly through laziness), but I also wanted to keep a character on the “loyalty bench” to see some story, but it hasn’t happened and that’s worrying.
8.2 could have been a good time for Sylvanas loyalists to get some story. I’m talking, Zin’Azshari, Temple of Elune, the book that shadow priests used with Xal’atath, Delaryn story and other bits.
I picked to side with Sylvanas on my DK so I can get both sides of the story… but out of laziness I haven’t done the rest of the war campaign yet. So no idea what happens.
Role players however are free to choose with who they will side with depending on their OOC and/or IC interests of course.
Truthfully - I thought it was a little below par than that of the Mage Order Hall Campaign.
Well that’s completely understandable. I’m indifferent to Sylvanas and chose to focus on my characters.
Lei’liah here is old and she saw Dreadlords raising her fallen sisters in battle during the WoTA, so she ain’t no Sylvanas fan, just don’t tell the Forsaken.
I don’t really RP my Blood Elf much, but in regards to the topic my Belf is completely uncaring of the war between the two factions as a whole and won’t choose any side in any Sin’dorei division over what happened with the Sunreavers, simply remaining away from such matters to work in peace. Despite this, if she’s left with no choice but to take action and publically choose a side, she’ll remain loyal to Lor’themar as she puts her loyalty to the Kingdom and it’s rulers above the Horde and what happened to the Sunreavers in the past and present.
The same goes for the rebellion in general, she won’t publically choose a side and take action unless Quel’thalas openly supports the rebellion, and even then she won’t openly do anything unless forced to take action.
For my Warlock, she will remain loyal to Lor’themar and Silvermoon City. The High Home comes first, and stands above all else. If fighting for Quel’thalas means to betray the Horde and stand against Sylvanas, then so be it.
It’s also a little premature to talk about a “divide” among Blood Elves. As far as the Blood Elf RP community goes, so far it’s more a case of sitting this one out one way or another.
Individual Blood Elf RPers in multi-racial guilds will probably follow what their guild will do IC I guess. At the most, a “divide” will manifest in RP as a few groups supporting Sylvanas, a few the rebels, and the rest just keeping a “we will stay home and guard the homeland just in case” stance while frowning at whatever side they fancy to frown at.
Bottom line, I see a very mild “divide” that is restricted to /frown at the other side, and a few witty comments.
Unless Blizzard surprises us and makes things explode to the point nobody can hold a neutral stance or distance from the events.
Also, if we can’t decide, we can always plan a Conclave to talk about it and by the time we are done the expansion would be over. Dodged a bullet!
