The game keeps crashing

I’ve had 8 critical errors in a very short space, I assumed initally it might be because of addons and as such I began enabling addons one by one until i found the culprit.

The game crashed when I enabled shadowed unit frames, good I thought, no, even with that disabled the game kept crashing, so I disabled all addons and upon attempting to open the pet journal the game critical error’d again.

  • I’ve tried disabling all addons, it didn’t help.
  • I tried removing all addons completely, it didn’t help
  • I’ve tried scanning and repairing the game, it didn’t help.

When I went off last night everything was fine, it was only after this maintenance everythings’s gone down the toilet. What am I looking at now? A fresh reinstall? The nuclear option (delete WTF)

Edit: It supposedly effects one character, solutions are apparently disabling addons, logging in and re-enabling addons or playing another character. This issue effected my Paladin but my druid is just fine, it still requires a proper fix from Blizzard.

Edit 2: My druid is now crashing as well, prior to the maintenance everything was fine.

Same. After the patch this morning (EU), game crashes after a minute or so…consistently.
Already did a repair. Did not help, tho.

The toon I got the first Radiant Echos event / cut scene on keeps DCing, other toons are OK. Is that a thing? EDIT: forget it, it’s not a thing. Others are DCing too.

I’ve tried logging in without any addons and the moment i tried to open a tab like the pet battles tab the game will freeze and crash, access violation error.

I’ve tried playing alts and the same keeps happening. I don’t know what they did during the maintenance but they’ve really messed it up, everything was 100% fine yesterday.

Got the same thing after this morning’s update, crashed a couple of seconds after logging in, and have tried everything scan and repair, disabling addons, resetting ui. All characters same. Everything worked well literally 2-3 hours ago before the weekly reset.

Crash called program: (wow file location at my disk, etc wow.exe) exception acess_volation - the instruction at “0x00007ff6f700dfa6” referenced memory at “0x000000000000228” the memory could not be “read” processID:6004 ThreadID: 21880

If anyone got the fix good bless you if not BLIZZ please fix that issue asap! Thank you :wink:

It looks like some add-on issue. With disabled all add-on option, I didn’t experienced crash.

Yeah, that’s what i thought when it worked until it started crashing again 10 mins later, don’t count your chickens before they hatch.

I don’t know man, I open-closed all the tabs and not crashed at all. If your addons are disabled then I don’t know what cause it in your side.

Update: Now it crashed out while I was at the taxi. So yeah, disabling addon its a not a proper solution sadly.

Got exactly this same issue I have tried everything so far literary like 3 hours ago before the weekly reset everything was smooth and doing good

Update: Same play for a bit 5-10 min with disabled addons I thought it was all fine and crashed again…

I’m pretty sure we can rule out addons at this point, it’s probably something they did during maintenance so we’ll need to wait for them to fix it.

got the same issue, with all addons on or even turned off, it does not make any diffrence. Cant do anything, cant raid, or do a dungeon, with this stupid risk of getting this hard crash any time. Most happen within 5min playing. please blizz fix this asap!!

Disable Advanced Work Submit and Optional GPU Features in the graphics settings.

Both my characters that wer crashing now work again with this disabled! Thanks to others for pointing this out!

if someone can tell out American friends :wink:

Yup, disabling those two options fixed all the crashes I was getting …

Ye, it did help me too, but… now we can`t play WoW in all its glory (no 4k rendering, no raytracing, no advanced AA). Blizz, fix it.

after that I can stay in game without crashing every 10 min)

Well, I take back what i said, crashes are back again. Mayby since little patch.
And I didnt do anything about addons.

standing still in Dalaran just kicks you out.

Im having the same issue. AMD Ryzen 7800 X3D, RTX 4070 Ti Super, Win 11. Disabled all addons, updated GPU driver, repaired game. Nothing works.

Is there any other fix aside of “Disable Advanced Work Submit and Optional GPU Features in the graphics settings” as for the moment?
