What transpired: A band of masked murderers creeps into the south of Ashenvale late at night. Somehow they evade the strong night elven presence and patrols.
Astranaar is attacked. A swift strike that left but a few sentinels dead on the ground; the fires that threaten to consume the just rebuilt pavilions are put out quickly. A grim ruse – the Emerald Sanctuary is struck soon afterwards. The murderous lot leaves none of the druids alive, or so they think. Days later, during a gathering of peace under the protection of druidic wardens, a single druid speaks his mind: On the Horde, the Forsaken and their vile deeds.
But his sharp tongue is no match for the dagger in his back. Lord Anlythras the First dies, berating the Horde and the Forsaken in what was meant to bring the ever-at-war factions of Alliance and Horde together. The assassin is nowhere to be seen…
and peace is not on the horizon either.
