So for the first time, I finally decided to trade around to collect all the pages and turn them into chapters to read through. It took a while, but it was well worth it for the short story that really fleshed out my idea of Stranglethorn Vale in general.

To anyone questing through Stranglethorn, I’d highly recommend that you collect the missing pages, and read through them while they’re complete in the form of chapters I-IV if you haven’t done so already. You get a decent chunk of XP afterwards for handing all the chapters back to Barnil too.

I made a bunch of friends trading pages, and think it was a unique and interesting quest. Good luck out there in STV, and try to be the hunter rather than the hunted :smiley_cat:

I love that quest, it reminds me of the first time I was leveling my character. Whenever I think STV, I think of ganking and the pages. The pages are also a nice way to make some money, I’ve sold a few of them for 40-60s ea.

A quick tip, it’s only the missing pages you need not every single one. So don’t be discouraged like I used to when I was younger, if you only find odd pages and not every single one numerically.

I also discovered when grabbing the last few, that most of the pages are super cheap on the auction house, especially the neutral goblin one in Booty Bay. It’s basically a big chunk of XP for like 40silver (less than the quest rewards vendor for).

I know. I did that quest in Vanilla. The problem is you always get 4-5 copies of the same damn page, and they all take up bag space

Duplicate pages stack, but I know what you mean since it’s still a lot of bag space. I used the Booty Bay bank to store them until I had them all :slight_smile:

The way they streamlined it in Catacylsm was so much better

I’m too generous then, since I finished the quest I’ve been giving them away for free to people that need them! >_<

I’ve avoided STV so far, I will probably go through with an alt next time. I remember that quest fondly even if it can be very annoying :grin:

I will never ever touch those pages again. Spent enough time on that on vanilla.

Just consider that with so many players in classic, there will be an overabundance of pages for sale at low prices considering how much undercutting is happening

Seems like specific mobs are prone to drop specific page, after a while of farming cave in kurzen’s compound, I got four 20’s and three different pages. To confirm this I’ll have to farm different mobs/area for a while, but if one is farming the same area over and over hoping to drop page that hand’t dropped yet, you are out of luck my friend.

Every time I have played through classic (4 times now) i have just straight up avoided doing anything with the pages, just avoid the quest altogether. Maybe on this new character I will try but seems a lot of effort for little reward…
