Many of them are doing guides, explaining strats, how to farm X item how to get X mount please let’s just stop with the bs.
How do content creators like Asmongold harm the game? You mentioned RMT even though he’s against wow tokens.
As for the different treatment. From a pure business stand point, of course you would give streamers and content creators special treatments than your ordinary player. Alpha and Beta invites for an example; A streamer will show off the game to more players and potentially future ones aswell. You could argue that the alphas and betas should be used for actual bug fixes, but that’s hardly the fault of content creators. It’s just acti-blizzards ideology of wanting more exposure and $$$.
Some people simply can’t live their lives without finding someone to hate on, that’s what it is. We even have a few specimens in this thread.
It’s not the content creators themselves that irk me, more often than not it’s their fans. Plenty make great content and theres nothing wrong with that.
I see Square have reached out to Asmon.
Blizzard take note, engaging with your biggest streamer is smart.
Only thing streamers have a tendency of doing on WoW is being disgustingly bias towards something which is OP and playing it out like its not a big deal. Vice versa
Don’t say that too loud or else you will summon some of the most dedicated ones.
Yes, many streamers make guides, but some of them also earn money from from being negative about everything with the game. A negative mindset from a couple of streamers will affect the mind of others, just as influencers affect people on social media platforms.
No, the game is not at its best. It got some problems. No one can deny that. But its not unplayable as some say. FF14 was unplayable when it was released. I’m not saying FF14 is a bad game, it got some nice things in it. But what I don’t get is why some people and streamers can praise FF14 and bash WoW for everything. Everything is not black or white.
Because is not about people don’t enjoy it
we love it we want to play it
but it’s in terrible state so people who love wow not just 1 aspect of the game but the game itself fight for it with a passion
korthia gearing upgrades are perfect example of this
you can upgrade items to 233 but that is gated behind reputation and i think renown as someone already said in different thread
the problem is that by the time you will get the rep
you will have already more ilvl on you XD
These little things but unlogical things ruin wow for people
or when people beg for a vendor for 5 years straight??
i want to play the game optimally but to play it that way is to play it like you have a 2nd JOB
i want to log in and have my progres in the content i’m doing
so when i’m doing m+ all day i want conduits and sockets and all that drop from there
there is no need to put that things into reputation
korthia would be amazing zone if you are going there to HUNT relics not to grind rep for a power lvl
The reason people are getting frustrated about streamers is because their fans keep ramming their opinions down everyones throats that doesn’t watch them. There is people obsessed who take their word like it’s a sign from god. Everytime one of them sneezes it gets posted here for example.
Elitists trying to drag the Devs’ focus entirely onto the type of gameplay they stream, to maximise the streamer’s profits…the loot drop nerf was a great example of why the Devs shouldn’t listen to Elitists.
Very shiny…you forgot Titanforging and Corruptions.
Ironic…given the OP.
Tbh, that reminds me of tier set tokens.
eyetick
Naive and foolish decision, feeding the cult of personality.
Maybe the reality behind the hate towards streamers is more related to the fact that they have their own opinion on every little part of the game and are not affraid to give these opinions. But, unlike other players whose voice is just one voice among many, these streamers voice are loud.
Sometimes, it’s a good thing. For example, when a streamer shows something wrong with a game, and the devs react to this by fixing the issue, then it’s all good.
Sometimes, it’s just plain wrong, when streamers voice their own personnal opinion and taste about something they dislike in a game, without considering that other players (who are not streamers) may like this feature. Then the devs react to this stream, by “fixing” what wasn’t broken in the first place.
It happened.
They should keep their opinions to themselves.
The main issues with streamers/YouTubers:
-
Their money comes from outrage and drama and most of them even agree that they prefer to put out negative content because it gets more views/engagement.
-
They act morally superior due to the fear of public judgement.
-
Their opinions are always the same and some players are manipulated. (group think)
-
They are hypocrites. (especially those who quit WoW because they are “so shocked” by the Blizzard drama but then they stream New World on Twitch, both being run by Amazon)
Much drama, much money…
There are non-WoW YouTubers and streamers that now just dump videos about Blizzard but games just go and play games. Instead of bashing WoW they just moved for now to something else giving WoW the time it needs.
Can’t speak for others, but I’m not mad at them. I don’t even watch them.
They are part of the vocal group of players asking for changes in Legion, BfA etc.
Now those changes are here and the game is bad for casuals. They helped make this game worse for MANY players. That’s how.
But it is. At least in part.
Targetting people for harassment, disrupting RP servers with his non-RP events, and despite him saying he’s ‘against’ stuff he tends to partake. See him buying boosts in Classic and taking all the free gold from fans when he said he wouldn’t and talked about how Classic should be played.
From a big corporation only looking to make more money and not a good game and treat people equally, sure.
and yet, Prior to streamers I think beta/alpha stuff went better as far as quality and bug fixing. FF has no such PTR stuff for newer content.
I will argue that yes, because we’ve had a lot of problems with bugs that either go unreported or are abused by content creators/top end raiders/pvpers in the first place.
Right, but streamers partake anyways which is entirely their decision and often they get real upsetti when they don’t get an invite real fast along with their fans that end up being super toxic with it.
You could also argue content creators and people making guides actually helped create the super min-max culture of today.
There’s also a LOT of bias with streamers breaking game rules while on stream and never being actioned for it. Even breaking said streaming platform rules, not being banned for it. (see Esfand, texting while driving/distracted driving on stream)
One of the many problems is streamers using their stream to bypass game rules as they’re not doing said things in game but doing it on stream instead.
people need to learn the difference between youtube content creator and game content creator, because we 100% can be angry at the Blizzards Content creatores how bad stuff they make
I don’t hate content creators nor the game. I follow several content creators and tbh them bashing the game is becoming a bit boring but I understand their view.
For sure, you can make better.
