The latest patch is crashing video cards

My PC doesn’t support rebar. Rebar settings have nothing to do with it. It’s a game code issue.

New patch today 11.1.7.61967 hasn’t fixed the problem.

Literally just crashed :open_mouth:

It can even crash during a load screen. Just happened right now while hearthing out of a dungeon.

I think I’ve just had one in Dornagal. First I thought it was a random stutter because I have launched the game only half a minute ago but then I noticed stuff on the screen rapidly disappearing only to begin returning a few moments later.

Some of the models load up completely black but eventually they receive their intended textures (although it sometimes takes almost 2 minutes) and my character model which had also become completely invisible was the last to reload.

One other weird glitch I have notice is textures popping in and out based on distance which is very unordinary. Most noticeable with the Gilded Brutosaur, OC91 Chariot and the Dragonflight Netherdrake.

If I stand let say 10 yards away from one of those mounts and start walking back and forward repeatedly a few yards, many minor details such as decorations, shiny pieces or even the exhaust and shiny bright glowing dragon eyes start to appear and disappear. It’s like adding and removing LEGO blocks on the base mount model.

This shouldn’t be happening with character and NPC models within attack range under any circumstance but only with objects such as trees and buildings based on view distance and environment distance settings (basically how far you can see stuff in the world).

I posted a short video capture on YouTube showing the problems I’m having

I’ve personally experienced your problem maybe twice over the last 30 days but it appears we are experiencing a similar if not an identical issue. My crash predominantly occurs while logging out back to character selection, except that models over there do not get covered with proper textures after a slight delay as with your voidwalker and instead they remain in a broken state (flat black or rainbow) and they stay that way until another manual forced reload (warband background switch, directx switch or another login/logout).

In a way it is comforting to know that my card isn’t fried but on the other hand the complete lack of acknowledgment or communication is both frustrating and worrying.

After another short PTR session there is no reason to remain optimistic either.

I played for a couple of hours yesterday without any crashes, which I thought was strange and made me think they had fixed the issue.

Today, however, I crashed in Dornogal, crashed while using a transmogrifier, and crashed when opening my bag. Both the transmogrifier and bag crashes happened in Dornogal.

Judging from video posted it happens when it loads in many new icons on potentially 3D model in for example mount viewer ?

Some interface addons put 3D potrait instead of class icon as well, these are probably all generated as it loads in first time and not at startup causing the crashing probably, its probably shader compiler that is broken but only for some users.

That sounds right.
It tends to be stable most of the time in normal play with just the occasional freeze normally when I’m using a flightpath but has issues 99% of the time when I open the appearances/transmog interfaces

This is usually when you also see shader flickering when something in 3D is rendered in like transmog view mount view etc

New variation for me at least:

Game froze on a flightpath in Ringing Deeps
Killed the game by closing the window
Logged back in and fell through the world
Kept getting disconnected after reconnecting
Had to use stuck character facility

Not ideal

how do you do this without being logged into the character or is it not possible? I’m having the same issue

Go to the support page of the website and search for stuck character service
It won’t let me post it as a link so copy and paste to your browser

11.2.0.62417 launched today and the problem is still present so I created another bug report in game.

Same here, since we are minority don’t expect them to do something anytime soon, im trying to solve all by myself, If I can’t I won’t play 11.2 like this again.

It’s so frustrating that blizzards engineers don’t even reach out

Noticed this happening today for me. Event ID 153 for my Nvidia driver.

What happened is during a loading screen to Dornogal, I noticed my game froze at 80% loaded for like 30-40 seconds then recovered and loaded the game just fine. I didn’t think much of it, but later I noticed this was logged in the Windows Event Viewer as driver crash. Very odd, never happened before.

Well, here’s a new problem: now if you open any sets in the transmogorifier, the game crashes to the desktop and reboots the driver. It looks like Blizzard is making fun of me as much as they can.

Transmog is a real issue and almost impossible for me to use.
I did the quest chain for the Gilded Sunglasses, around 25 minutes, and it took longer to get the game to allow me to apply it to a character than to complete the quests.
