The level 10 hurdle needs to be improved to attract new players

Well I havent levelled druid but I really enjoyed warrior.

You can take alchemy, or engineering and know its got its specific playstyle; I thought 1-10 was easy atleast. 20-30 was tougher

So reading a simple guide is out of the range of a new player?

That is where you are wrong, a classic experience is exactly that, the classic experience, as close to the original as possible. Altering stuff makes it “not classic”

I have plenty of people in my guild who are completely new to the game and MMOs in general, and they felt level 10 as an awesome achievement and were just excited to get going out into a new zone.
Only one or two have complained about it so far, so I suggested they tried a different class and they did, and guess what? They liked that one more (just from the first 10 levels) and are now around level 20-30.

Also, just to point out. I never played classic. This is all new for me as I am a cata-baby, I started just before Dragon Soul was released. Please do not assume things about people.

Just because you believe it’s a problem doesn’t mean it actually is a problem. I feel the first 20 levels really eases you into your class and you know by that time whether you want to continue with it or try a new one.

Its dedicated and fun that you layed your time on this, i still dont think they need to change anything. Masses of people come to Classic for the reason of being a good mmo. You cant compare anything to it really. They have to just “struggle” to 10, then they will be fun, a great experience on the way. If they change minor stuff like you want them to, there would not be a classic wow. And people would leave beacause of that.

You do realise the vast majority of casual gamers don’t do this right? You have to get them engaged in the first place before they’re invested enough to investigate further and by ‘hooking’ them with a minor power increase (that some classes already have) would have no negative effect on the experience.

We’re playing from the start with 1.12 talents and layering, it’s nothing like the experience players had in Vanilla at the very beginning and those changes are far more impactful than what I’m proposing.

Its no longer 2009, ESO and FFXIV are serious competitors on the MMO market now. WoW is no longer the end all be all of MMOs.

nice effort troll post

I like it how it is, makes players from the very beginning respect mechanics, and respect pulling mobs.

You’ve given a lot of deep thought to this and you present your argument very well.

I simply disagree. There is no need to adjust the initial Classic experience. Anyone put off by it would do well to play WoW Retail.

And that is a major “problem” regarding posts for the better, on forums.

“I experience 《insert whatever》 is sht and therefor others must feel the same and it NEEDS to change”

I dont find 1-10 tidious at all…so who is right??

If you know how to play it, bear form on lvl 10 is a great power spike. I stick to it till like lvl 24, because up to that point it’s better than cat. Levels 10-20 are a piece of cake for druid. You barely have to stop for drink/food because your mana goes full while you kill 2-3 mobs in bear form.

Sry mate missclicked and replied to your post instead of OP

Before cataclysm millions of people played the game, and non had a problem with the lvl 10 rewards, afterwards someone is power hungry “Must have more power at 10!”

I find it part of the charm, really. It´s such a relief to reach level 10 as a Druid, it feels like such an accomplishment to finally get Bear form
