Absolutely agree, back when you had personal loot you got a couple of items per full raid run.
Now it’s not worth raiding outside of a loot master in a guild.
And as mentioned above, people press need on EVERYTHING out of spite.
What’s the point of pugging when the time vs reward simply isn’t even remotely worth it.
Add personal loot back and give us a weekly coin.
Legion raiding was peak pugging…
Today i did an Lfr with my Warlock(was looking for the ench rec.)
A single Mage Won 5 items . I mean i was like WoW…wtf
not only got tier etc but also the ring~that probably all raid grp~rolled.
Was amusing seeing 100 , 92 and 97 rolls ~:D
It’s pretty bad especially if you raid 2 weeks16 bosses and you don’t get anything :D)
My record in Df is 4 weeks=` 1 month without a Single piece .(After that i gave up ) It could be a bigger strike.
It’s not just the raids. The loot system in wow is dog****. It’s lottery over lottery.
In raid you roll against everyone else and might fail to get what you want every time. Even with guild controlled systems you will be unable to get what you want. It’s impossible to please everyone and everyone will want the rare ring or whatever that is bis but most will never get to have it.
Your odds are item dropping and rolling against every other person in the raid that is interested. Odds change depending on how many you roll against. There is no bad luck protection.
In dungeons It’s only slightly better cause you still have to draw a loot piece from a table of 10 or so items. Still, better odds. Around 5 to 10%.
Delves are an absolute joke. You get a pull from dozens of items. Assuming 30, Let’s say 3% cause i don’t know how many actual items there are.
Meanwhile in FFXIV i get four guaranteed tokens every reset (these are exchanged with the gear you aimed for. Different slots need different amounts of token) and i got the weekly currency i do by running random content roulettes to buy other pieces in the vendor. Every week i am guaranteed at least 2 pieces of loot i can aim for.
The director of WoW says he doesn’t find it cool to go on a vendor and buy the gear and finds it exciting when it drops.
I would say it’s exciting 1% of the time and frustrating the other 99%.
I would be thrilled and excited if i could go to a vendor and get my loot. Actually the dinar systems in season 4 have been incredibly popular with the community and they refuse to add them to the regular seasons. Going to that npc with loot is one of the most exciting activities there have been in WoW.
I truly despise the loot system in wow atm. The gear upgrade system doesn’t really add much when we can’t even get the gear we want to begin with. Not to mention the arbitrary valorstone cap. Why does that currency even exist when crests are already capped?
Delete all loot from raids, dungeons and delves, even BoEs. Make everything drop crests and gold only.
Put every item on a vendor, whether it’s equipment, profession recipe, mount, pet or whatever. Make them purchasable with crests.
This will also remove any need for the Great Vault and Catalyst too, so delete those as well.
