I wouldn’t call it Void magic. Void is a much stronger version of Void for me. I mean just like a shadow priest you have the shadow form and a much stronger void form where he even can get tentacles.
Sharing the same visuals does not necessarily mean that they are from the same source.
The Mooncrazed thing is actually… wow.
That’s the purpose of Wardens: To get slaughtered by more important people. Or some random demons.
So, Night Elves thinks that Elune gave them enough help. Oh god, how stupid the story with Delaryn and Sira looks now.
Hope Blizzard will delete those 2 mistakes from the game.
Wasn’t really talking about War of Thorns, but almost every other story involving either Ashenvale or Darkshore.
And those Horde races didn’t have said sort of numerical disparity in the conflict of Cataclysm, or Vanilla Warsong vs Night elves quest lines.
She gave help after they lost their home, and a good part of their people. So she helped with revenge, not with saving their people. A little too late for Sira and Delaryn.
Dude. Just read Chronicles. Shadow = Void. It’s explicitly stated to be the same thing. I agree it would make more sense that shadow magic is like a dilluted version of “Void magic”… but it’s not. , Again, Chronicles literally says so. And who are we to argue with the writers?
Whether Tyrande is using shadow/Void magic or not… well, we don’t know for sure. As of Legion, Priestesses of Elune do use the Light, just like all priests do. They even created night elf paladins and dropped a hint that Elune might be a Naaru. It would make sense, then, that the “dark side of Elune” would be the Void. The magic used by Tyrande also has the same particles as shadow/Void spells usually do. So yeah, there’s a really good chance she is using the Void.
On the other hand, some of her other spells, the Night Warrior eyes, and the darkened Moonwell all share the same unique black/blue colors, which is distinctive enough to be considered its own thing. Then there’s also Elune’s peculiar connection to nature and the use of lunar/astral magic, something which has never had its lore explained, in spite of balance druids and the night elf priest spell Starshards having been in the game since its conception…
So yeah, we can only guess until Blizz decides to give some more information about what the heck the whole Night Warrior business is about, if they ever do that. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Oh yeah. So it means that your current Warchief if probably a void abomination if we see it like you. Death Knight = Void Knights, Warlocks = Shadowpriests => Void Priests.
Undeath and decay and their shadows are totally different from the stuff void uses. Void, Light, Life, Death, Arcane and Chaos/Fel are spheres of their own, with the elementals making up the foundation of the universe in the physical world.
Uhm. Warchief?
Also, what are you trying to say with the last line…? I’m not even giving you my own interpretation or opinion. I’m paraphrasing Blizzard.
Death Knights use decay, not shadow magic or the Void. Warlocks use fel magic, not Shadow/Void magic (and yes, even affliction warlocks use fel magic - the Legion article on warlocks explicitly states that). Shadow priests use Shadow/Void magic.
You don’t need to try to meme me. I’m not giving you my opinions or what I wish was true. I’m paraphrasing information provided by Blizzard. It’s really not that hard to understand.
Ok, I found nothing to counter that.
That’s not true. Most of their spells are shadow spells. The only class which only use raw chaos magic is the DH.

Sadly so, pretty epic Order being butchered left and right!
Some people should not be allowed to post on Lore/Story section. So many trolls and imbeciles. Most of the threads are now a debate between a Troll posting twisted nonsense and someone trying to debunk their mangled point of view…just get a life people.
Now look what you’ve done OP, you’ve upset Tyrande.
Yeah, OP. Geez.
Tyrande killing wardens was her right - they committed treason for disobeying orders from a a superior military commander. It blows my mind that people still bring that up.
Don’t really get why everyone just over looks the “Lunar” side of Elune. Balance Druids use to have the old Solar/Lunar bar which shifted to each side when they did abilities, drawing their powers from the sun which normally was “light” and the moon which normal was “dark”.
I dunno why everyone has to jump to Void and Shadow so quickly because the spells are purple-ish colour.
She freed a known lunatic and criminal for the lolz despite everyone telling her not to. And without the ludacrous redemption cringe from Legion, Illidan would still been remembered as evil tyrant instead.
