Do you think it is fun for the elemental shaman not to be able to deal damage when it has to? No, it’s not. As a resto shaman, I don’t really care about elementals in the opponent team. Just zug zug and eventually, it will die. However, keeping it alive is a pain in the butt.
While sitting on the disc train, everyone can feel it broken, since the tunneled shaman can’t do else than lava, spam purge, and grounding. No shield, no atonement, and the priest should finally feel the pain of the resto shamans: the importance of position, and hard casting heals.
About the “random” bursts:
you can see the shaman’s Maelstrom
you can see and also interrupt Storm Caller.
Flame Shock is dispellable
Lava Surge is also visible
You have all the information to know when the burst comes. The only thing that no addon tells you about it.
this “player” ranking is sh*t, looks stats what classes play on high rat and how preform on AWC atc… not a random tier lits of ppl who dont play all classes just makeing it on subjective reasons

The known op classes at start of expansion were Shadowpriest and stuff like DH Fury Rogue DK (ye its such a mistery why i decided to play a class that didnt need to cast much)
Man you’re 1500 in shuffle with over 500 rounds. Srsly you think you know better than rank 1 players who are insane at the game and spent 50k hours in arena the state of balance? Have some humility.
If they nerf ele damage before the rework, it will just get rofl stomped, because that’s all they have, and shamans will not have a single good spec to play while they will just have to bend against melee teams. You must be very salty inside your heart to want this. If anything should be nerfed it’s spear of bastion. Most stupid ability in the gamd.
ele was nerfed like 3 weeks ago and had several nerfs to magma chamber and to elemental blast the weeks before.
Ele has obvious weaknesses and is neither in highrated, tournament or even lower rated play an outliner. It has decent representation but thats it.
Just because a spec is s tier doesnt mean it needs to be nerfed.
And i rather prefer ele to be a s tier spec which has many weaknesses instead something like dh or assa

He has a big output dmg with lot of instant but its like a papier.
He has great utility agains melee cleaves, and that is your problem.
30k lava bursts, is not much, when a warrior can put 120k mortals, and Rogues has 30k shadow technicks .
aaaaaand we have never talk about your Final reckoning + wake of ashes combo during wings.
The only shaman spec is working is the elemental please dont ram us into mud.
All healer specs are now garbage compared to disco and that’s because disco is broken AF.
No shamans play enhance because Ele is infinitely better. It’s not really fair to say it’s the only spec which works for shaman. It’s a spec which is better than 90 percent of all specs for arena.
You keep saying ‘yes but if i’m in an all melee arena I get trained’…yes!, that’s the same for every class . It sucks to be in an arena full of rogues if you’re a melee as well. Sucks to be in an arena full of hunters if youre the only melee. Sucks to be the only melee in an arena full of casters.
It’s not like when you queue you’re gonna get a full melee lobby everytime. Only been more in the last few weeks because of arms buff. Watch what happens now after the mage/lock buffs, and if history repeats itself it’ll stay like this until end of expac.
yeah man them big 30k lava bursts, really op, ele dmg is soo random that you cant nerf it, the dmg is to compensate for the lack of survive, classes with on demand burst are so much better, if you tone ele dwn you have to give them on demand burst instead
To everyone who is crying about ele, may I remind you that the class has only 1 (ONE) defensive cooldown? That you cannot even use during stuns?
No instant heals
No immunities
No secondary defensive spell
Not a great mobility
Text book glass canon. Who thinks Ele is broken, I suggest you roll one and see how your game play is 90% kiting behind pillars praying to God for procs.
100% of the times trained by melee, if an Ele is against 2 melee, is game over from 1st second

Actually, Ele doesn’t have a sustained high DPS. Ele can’t and won’t outdps a melee if there are 2x melee sitting on him ('cuz then you have to spend gcds on totems, purge, wolf form etc. instead of full pump). It doesn’t top the charts but it does like 10k dps 5 seconds then 50k dps in the other 5, so it is sort of “bursty”.
Melee players lose it when a caster does the same damage as them. They think when they sit on caster it should not be able to do any significant damage at all.
They managed to get Demo nerfed to the ground, they want Ele dead too.
Anywho, Ele needs no nerfs at all. Its a very balanced spec.
Disco was so broken that we saw nothing but disc in awc last wknd. Also dealing more damage than dps playeds in every game. Healing only with instants more than any healer and also having insane mana (can’t oom).
In all fairness there is no single best healer right now, just good ones and bad ones.
