I’m sure there are some people who enjoy leveling 7 characters and grinding the same unchallenging content tirelessly.
And that’s okay. The option to skip leveling means that the option not to skip is still there.
Make it mandatory to complete [current expansion]'s campaign once per account, then allow us to boost all of our characters directly to 70 if we so choose.
Leveling is:
Time consuming
Extremely easy, therefore boring
Extremely repetitive
It’s a chore. It’s the same level of pain as playing Torghast. I hate it with all my heart, and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone.
They don’t really publish this sort of data, but I suspect most people who buy boosts buy them with Gold anyway. Could never imagine paying real money to not have to play a game.
Maybe WoW isn’t for you instead, since it’s apparently going in the opposite direction to what you want. I love when people make dismissive blanket statements that ignore other people’s perspectives.
I can agree with that. It’s good for everyone but it’s not really a great game for anyone anymore. Maybe for sadistic players who love challenging content, hate rewards, and love relying on others and teamwork to down bosses. So basically Preach. No diss on Preach btw, love the guy.
I don’t need to level any more characters as I have all Classes at 60 or above and certainly not feeling anymore for this expansion. I have more than enough to handle.
I’m just saying, if Levelling more was like it was pre-SL, then I might be inclined to do it again, but then I have Classic for that.
However, WoW is a huge game, and its more than just the end game, or any one of end game modes. Levelling is just part of the WoW experience, and in fact, it’s a good time to get used to playing your class.
But if you do want to skip that, there is a Boost option on the In-game store you could always buy.
On the contrary.
All of Blizzard’s focus is on end game content. It’s been like that for years.
As it happens, it’s all I’m interested in as well.
Allowing me to skip the useless junk and jump right into end game content, if anything, would be the most consistent decision Blizzard could make.
If I offer you to take a thousand euros or don’t take it; you are going to take it. That’s not really a choice.
Every single person who wants an alt to run endgame content would skip.
And it would take away an important part of the RPG in MMORPG. So I think it would be a bad move to do so.
Then don’t do it. You don’t need to. This is a game. If you don’t enjoy it; don’t play it.
So then how does it affect you that other people would get a choice of skipping the leveling process?
Wow is very much an endgame only game if you’re a competitive player. If not, then the gear progression likely doesn’t concern you and you have a higher tolerance for leveling that’s otherwise useless content.
If you make any meaningful ilvl progress while leveling that carried into endgame, it would be great, but as it is you’re just wasting time to start the actual grind.
It’s not and it never was while playing the game normally.
It’s only a fallacy if you acknowledge that leveling is indeed a chore and is best skipped altogether.
Because if it was genuinely fun content, if “the journey” was as fun as “the destination”, then you would actually consider not skipping it - even given the option.
But as I said, and as you seem to acknowledge, leveling is not fun. Not on your 7th character at least.
Which is why the option to skip it entirely should be a thing.
Unless you just really like to be forced to do boring stuff for “muh MMORPG feels”.
And it’s degenerative to the game. WoW does not need to be turned more into a ‘lobby based matchmaking game’ no matter how much some people would like that. It’s an MMORPG and it should stay that as much as possible.
Because I’m a believer that the best experience in WoW is to experience it all. And that includes the levelling process.
We’re all WoW players at the end of the day. If you choose to segregate yourself into your own little part of the game, then don’t complain when you have to play other parts of the game.
It’s this destructive attitude which is why this game is falling apart.
I made 600k on Thursday evening simply selling Enchants on the AH. That’s very much playing the game normally. I have lost count of how much I have made this expansion. Unfortunately, my TSM doesn’t keep a track of how much I have spent on WoW Tokens, it just removes the gold from the total/chart.
Why would Blizzard give something away for free when people already pay for it?
Whut? Maybe through boosting, but not through the regular economy. I’ve heared a lot of those gold capped people literally exploited some bug in wod apparently lmao.
