I definitly have more level 60’s than the average player. I want the boost, I want to be able to play with my friends who will not play without it, remebering how awful they felt the old world was, but how much they enjoyed TBC and Wrath
People are literally telling you to play the actual game, and you call that gatekeeping?
Oh dear lord…
well its lucky for you that you’ll have it your way then.
let me know when your friends start crying about their lack of gold due to inflation caused by the bots buying boosts left and right and pumping gold into the economy
translation,i’m to lazy to farm to get gold because I want to buy everything dirt cheap and ill blame all the bots for stuff being more priced than I want them to be
So where do i buy instant 70 with bis gear? I dont want to grind boring raids. I just want to PVP with max gear. Dont tell me i cant have it, that would be selfish.
Where is the evidence that the boost is good for the health of the game in the long run? The boost in population in the beginning doesn’t count because that would’ve happened anyway (people come back for content releases).
Not only that, they will also have trouble grinding mats because of an excessive amount of flying Druid bots (plus those with 60s already buying boosts for Druid farmers) will camp resource spawn nodes.
And if they want to play Hunter or Warlock, good luck with that, because now people will boost up those classes as they’re FOTM leading to massive competition for gear and raid spots. God, I’m gonna be sick of seeing Warlocks and Hunters everywhere.
And if they want to play Alliance, good luck with that, because now people will swap to and boost up Horde as they’re regarded as the better faction.
And the game will be filled up with people that don’t have much time to play the game (plus clueless players), so then they don’t have much time to talk or help other people either, influencing groups’ social dynamics, leading to a less social and a more toxic game.
Yup, sounds like the TBC I remember. /s
Retail is literally a past experience that shows how garbage boosts and MTX are bad for the game on the long-run but some people just cover their eyes with their hands and claim there is no problem.
Don’t waste your time with these people.
I swear, some of them seems to be willfully ignorant just because they want another 58 without having to put in the work, or to get their friends into the game, but they don’t give a damn about the health of the game or the community at large.
Yeah, when level boosts got introduced into Retail the game had its biggest hemorrhage of players ever seen up to that point (a few months later that is, as everyone got sped up into stagnation). Players cited the game adapting to the player as a major reason for quitting (as opposed to players having to adapt to the game).
I personally don’t care much about there being MTX in Retail as that game is beyond saving, we have Classic now, and Retail is designed around stuff such as boosts (leveling being a joke and a complete side attraction). What annoys me is that crap getting infested into our beloved Classic games ><
Not ignorant. I just don’t believe the problem is cosmetics in retail, those people who were sour about that would leave a long time ago, but numbers still keep going down which kinda implies it’s a whole other problem. Retail problem is more about raid/leveling etc design that is just awful atm. Same with class identity is all over the place.
It’s bad enough that a lot of players left a long time ago due to cosmetics. Imo, cosmetics are a huge part of MMOs just as they are in real life. Designer clothes and Ferrari-car have some added value due to cosmetics. In TBC cosmetics mattered, like being the one that had the gladiator-mount or the mount that dropped from Kael’thas gave a lot of prestige (while the rest were on gryphons/wyverns). I think that adding in store mounts and whatnot adds to bloat and makes mounts less special, especially when they can get acquired through means outside the game.
Well good thing TBC has no cosmetic mounts so far, let’s keep if that way for you people hopefully as i couldn’t care less about them, and this is coming from somone that got glad mount in TBC(weird flex i know). Also I’m wondering one thing. Anti boost keep saying play retail if you can’t bother level in TBC. My question is, why aren’t they just playing the classic era servers? The boost won’t be there.
Apart from anyone leveling Blood Elf or Draenei unless they all sit AFK in instances being boosted all the way to 58 or 60.
Like the Trading Card mounts in TBC then?
Yes, I was not a fan of it. However, it’s not that comparable to a straight up cash shop accessible to a lot of WoW-players (while the TCG mount required you to play/or buy card packs from a different game; very few WoW-players would go out of their way to buy hundreds of packs in another game in the hopes of getting the code).
Even for the Spectral Tiger ? OK … People are willing to spend upwards of $12,000 US to buy it. So numerous card packs suddenly doesnt seem that dear …
Noone has any idea if anyone left the game due to store cosmetics, not even Blizzard. I get you need arguments against store, but this one is simple guessing.
Think blizzard knows considering when you quit they ask for a survey why you quitting. Some people might have written store stuff etc
Probably not all of them tho
It’s the “death of a thousand cuts”, meaning that cosmetics obviously wasn’t the only reason for people quitting the game. But I’m sure there were some people that disliked the game for being bloated with mounts and that didn’t like the concept of transmog for example, or that found the focus on pets to be silly. I personally don’t care that much about cosmetics, but I know some people didn’t like WoW becoming more of a “dress my avatar and collect pokémon” or “Cosmetics of Mountcraft”.
I agree that cosmetics and vanity stuff in a cash shop ain’t that bad, but those could be used as a way to get the shop in there, add the UI button and put other kinds of stuff in later on.
Bring on the boosts! Can’t wait to play a druid
