So you believe that Guilds should have an OOC authority of the Guildless because they have numbers and “Power”. Thats lame. whats next, Guilds should have an OOC claim to who goes where?
Tiers of RP

The point is that all “power” in roleplay is illusionary. You could just deny everyone their power, but at that point you are just sabotaging any attempt at creating something more interesting than the most bare-bones of campfire RP.
There’s actually only 2 tiers
At the bottom, you have bdrp
At the top, PCU.
I don’t think Perroy ever said that anyone should have authority over anyone on an OOC level.
Of course denying IC power like guards, or your higher up is wrong, But I’m talking about OOC power, the belief that some guild Leaders have that they think they are above you IRL because they own a guild.
Well then he was misunderstanding the point i was making, I was talking about Guilds that think they OOC have power over others.
I believe if someone is roleplaying something that you might consider a form of " power " - ie. some noble / officer / cult leader / whatever that commands the loyalty of a group of people - you should absolutely react IC instead of breaking instantly attempting break character to remind them that you do what you want and that their " power " is not real (in the same sense that literally nothing in-game is, I guess?)
You were the one who brought OOC into it which I guess may show the difference in mentality
Do you deny that some people are better / worse at roleplaying (ie. play more compelling characters, write in a more interesting way etc)? I don’t agree even briefly
I am not better than you because I own a guild
I think he died IC mate …
Yupp true he’s the best
That is a very possible possibility which is possible.
I believe there are better or worst characters, but i don’t think there are categories. It also up to personal opinion, i could find one thing interesting, you another.
You thought I was talking about you? you are mistaken. i have no issues with you as the Rotgarde have treated me with no ills IC or OOC
If you meant purely on an OOC level, I agree that people shouldn’t throw their weight around there but also I think sometimes that is inevitable. In an argument the side that has the most hecklers (usually) wins …
For sure, yet if you prefer the kind of roleplayer who hangs around Goldshire over - I don’t know, the aforementioned Fearless than sure you can have that opinion
Though it would be wrong 100%. There are things that are down to taste but there are also things that aren’t really
No, I didn’t think that - it was just an example. There are plenty of fantastic roleplayers who are guildless / effectively guildless (even if I am generally pro-joining guilds. Pay your activity tax, people. I have /who quarterly returns to file!!!)
I don’t have any beef with you and you seem to be a friendly gamer I just don’t buy into the mentality your post could be interpreted to represent
I am only better than people because I’m incredibly handsome and also a titan of the mind
The guild doesn’t come into it …
Today I learned that apparently multiple members of the PCU are from Goldshire.
I guess I’m fortunate then that I never met a guild leader that abuses some sort of OOC power.
My comment comes from experience I had with a guild leader who actively tried to bully guildless players into joining his guild. horrible person, it was all the more funnier when his right hand man back-stabbed him by taking all his members to a new guild.
Based
It’s time for everyone to become guilded (in a guild I run)
A perroy run Borg like guild. A porg if you will.
By 2022 I project that the concept of the “guildless roleplayer” will be no more
Won’t you join me, Dudflex? We can stand together as brothers
A tempting offer, a place to call home, people to call friends, but the guildless life will always have one thing that no guild has. The one thing that calls me back like a pirate to the sea. Zero attendance requirements.
draws his axe, as he glances towards the High Executor. He smiles, nods assuringly as the army of Guildless approach
"Together."
And they charge into the battle… Weapons drawn, with an everlasting warcry…
FOR THE GLORY OF THE PROJECT!!!
Well, aside from jokes, that would actually be a good thing. Basically that means, that -everyone- finding their home… What they like, enjoy and feel comfortable with. And that’s based.
With that, probably community becomes closer… Hopefully.
Hopefully but unlikely, there will always be those who disagree, those who want to be above the rest and those who want to start fights. sad things about dreams, Reality disagrees with them.
Besides we already have a community, its called Argent Dawn, and although its a bit broken and scratched, its a damn good one. constantly changing, recognisable faces. Argent Dawn is the Community and its home… until Wow goes bankrupt and we all have to find a new home.
Why the hell did i just right that dumb speech? God i got to stop drinking.
Well, in terms of my guilds and as a complete aside to our discussion - if you tell the officer that is recruiting you “yo, I can only play once a week” / “I’m gone on x dates” they will make a note of it and not bother you about it
My problem is really with people who are inactive wordlessly because that’s not something we can account for in terms of guild administration
Based and also Kumppilled. Time to join the PCU
I’ve been such a fool, Vassili. Man will always be a man. There is no new man. We tried so hard to create a society that was equal, where there’d be nothing to envy your neighbour. But there’s always something to envy. A smile, a friendship, something you don’t have and want to appropriate. In this world, even a Soviet one, there will always be rich and poor. Rich in gifts, poor in gifts. Rich in love, poor in love.
