probably because they are based on the floating debris of a planet and have an extremely convenient way of getting rid of anyone thats gone insane, while outside of that we see them prancing about in stormwind or committing evil warcrimes against the horde (ie making their potential outbursts and activities have a target instead of being set loose)

One warcrime (from the little I recall) but it’s a good point. I still think void elves get more sh*t than what we’re shown though.
Depends on what you call a warcrime really.
They desecrate the dead en-masse in Zandalar with no intention other than spiting the zandies, they throw goblin civvies into void-portals to nothingness, they oppose capitalism.

The definition of war crime is not clearly set but ‘casting someone into everlasting torment’ probably counts and void elves do that a lot

It’s not a simple definition (despite Azeroth apparently having some?) because things that are war crimes IRL such as targeting medics is not [usually] something considered controversial in WoW.
Also in real life you can’t throw someone into hell

It does have a definition in the Warcraft setting. Vae Victis. The Alliance being consistently the good guys and victorious are allowed to define what they want as a War Crime, much like a certain other analogous group of victorious powers who brought down a despotic, racial supremacist state.
