Yo who banned you?? What’s All this then
I have no idea and don’t care enough to contest it tbh
Welcome to the Argent Dawn forums, Starshaed! How long is your suspension?
Only until the 10th.
For the record, I did actually enjoy playing a Void Elf as a void elf and my frothing hype at the coming High Elf Expansion that also features some death stuff is incidental
I bet there’s more examples of elves with ‘‘human’’ like names or any other ‘‘non-elven’’ name. It applies for all races. In fact I don’t really know where the complaints come from in the first place, half of the human RPers name their human males Sir insert name of Prussian prince and made-up location here so idk
That is very much true. I remeber Karina of Silvermoon, from Broken Shore.
Unfortunately my void elf typically avoids humans with a twenty ft pole to be close enough to be in all of her void elfy’ness.
Certainly a mixed bag when I roam SWC from time to time.
What about being a manifestation of Void given life due to years of unease and an untimely interaction with a old god related relic that became too much and allowed the shadows in the back of ones mind to become a real thing leading you to cause yourself to die and then that shadow taking control and using your body and trapping you within it until three of your friends came along to free you but then the manifestation became its own thing now gallivanting around and trying to turn void elves bad with his silver tongue?
I hope you didn’t take a breath during that.
SW in this case is like Goldshire
You potentially could find some quality RP there (and those are top noch quality!), but most of the time the “real” RP, organized events, etc are well hidden, quiet places , far from SW and from the prying eyes (and streamers. We are not zoo animals for others entertainment…)
Take the awesome Dustpaw Caravan, they spend little time in the “main” RP hubs, always on the move etc
Void Elves are a bit similar aside from the sporiadic resting visiting, they don’t really have a reason to wander on the streets of Stormwind, but have their own gathering places, missions, etc (not counting of course the ‘Quel’dorei in void elf skin for the time’ sub-group, but even they are mostly at Dalaran with the Covenant or other High elven places, not in SW)
Long story short, “condemning” the whole Ren’dorei RPer community from a descriptions of a few SW wanderers are more than not fair…
They’re just a little poorly b-baka
Can I ask - have you visited Stormwind recently? The amount of Void Elves that fit into these tropes are not (at least imo) merely “a few SW wanderers” There are quite a few to put it lightly, sometimes outnumbering everything else.
While there are certainly some good characters, there are also a -lot- of Void Elves who have characters that have 0 connection to the Void or even really the whole Void Elf backstory.
Not sure what goes on at Goldshire can be considered roleplay, let alone quality roleplay tbh.
Or you can just retcon it.
Just to make sure that you aren’t turning your personal headcanon (however plausible) into canon, how many velves have exactly betrayed the Alliance so far? I don’t remember any.
We had Twilight Hammer void elves in that quest line added in patch 8.2.5, the one about Wrathion.
Pretty normal since every race in Warcraft is basically humans with a twist.
I have never ever seen that happen.
Would you like to quote where it specifically states in the lore that “void elves do not take human names”?
I would like to see that happen in the first place. Never seen it, never experienced it.
If a name in roleplay puts you off, then I don’t know what to say. Just leave them be? Not sure. Weird post. Is this a meme post or so?
Human roleplayers have been the bigger issue that I experienced.
Already answered this in comment you´ve quoted.
Quite a copious amount of them, too.
We also see well enough that they’ve got potential to be quite unstable, like that one Island Expedition velf, or when Alleria mentions with clear surprise that she’s impressed with how you’re holding up when you fetch the heritage set.
Fair enough but I don’t think that’s a huge deal. We see all races into the twilights, from draenei up to trolls.
So far, for all the talk about instability, I’d argue we’ve been shown that VElves have been a reliable asset for the Alliance (and don’t go crazy every Friday).
I dont think anyone is arguing they should be absolutely unreliable wrecks, just that they shouldn’t be 100% fine and stable 100% of the time
Because at that point you might as well just play a high elf shadow priest, something i dearly hope quite a few people do when the options roll out.
This is absolutely true. I do agree with the thought of the OP (that too many void elves in Stormwind act, behave and look like humans - with a supplement of magic and beauty).
Then again, these days I’m not into SW RP but If my past experience is of any indication, OP is right.
I can say with certainty that little has changed. There’s a few good nuggets in the lot, but for the most part its still second life rp but purple
