Odd, I’m in opposite camp. I can’t take this race seriously because of their looks. And that is coming from someone that started wow advensture with belfie mage.
But over the time their looks and overrepresentation was rubbing me the wrong way so I rerolled to back in the time the least popular race that is now my main.
Beauty is very subjective. But even if I’d want to talks about attractiveness, belves imo aren’t really that good looking either if we just use human canons of beauty. Human females look more appealing, not only when it comes to face but also the fact that they have meat on their bones and didn’t look like they surgically removed pair of ribs. They have more customization options, I also think that dwarf female after character revamp kinda remind me of Angelina Jolie minus the nose. And orc females are quite cute.
But belves look plastic soulless and like barbie dolls. They remind me of those cheap girls that get heavy make up, bleach hair and gets overly tan and then goes to the bar get drunk, swear a lot, and hunt for men. Y’know Jersey Shore kinda thing.
I think that’s the answer, it seems one of the main reasons you enjoy Trolls is because they are not massively played as Blood Elfs.

I agree, I play one in Alliance side.
The only problem is, if you want to play as Horde not as Alliance.
I prefer a male Orc.
Once I was on my Human female Warrior on the Warrior Order Hall when I suddenly saw what it looked like a male warrior.
There was a problem: he was Horde, I said WTF ??
Horde has Humans now or it’s a disguise ?

Blood Elfs don’t exist in our reality.
In example: I also like female Draenei faces, especially their eyes, you can’t find anything similar in our reality.
There are many reasons why I grown to like this race more and more, but I indded like the underdogs, so I also have pandaren and even low level gnome.
Maybe I wouldn’t mind belves this much if even by going to the frige I wouldn’t tip over one.
But with trolls I like their cat-like grace, that their culture is based on mesoamericans, and I am sucker for this aethetic as I was growing up with tomb raider games, and that their females look like true amazons. I can go on and on, but the what I like doesn’t matter in the long run and I’m not here to convert people.
Well I don’t have such a problem because I always liked troll and orc females.
