Whoever designed the pvp ranking system must have done it in his 5min toilet break without thinking.
How is it logical that I need the same amount of honor to go from rank 0 to rank 7 compared to starting from rank 6 to rank 7.
That’s absolutely unrewarding. It doesn’t make any sense to continuously pvp and rank up step by step (other than fun in BGs yes bla bla). The best way is to do it all in one week and nothing else…
Yes, the old honor was brutal and an insane grind but atleast it was something you could grind on for a longer period of time.
Right now it would be stupid to rank to 6 and the week after to 7 because the caps don’t make sense. Absolutely brainless system

One rank gain max per week would be nice to prevent 0-7 in one week.
Meh, you’d have to spend the whole phase just to get your rank 7. I wouldn’t mind once we’re all 60 and don’t expect a new phase every few weeks but right now it’s a bit too punishing.

Why are you ranking if you don’t like pvp and bgs? like i don’t understand it sometimes why put yourself through something you don’t like to do? If you think 110k honor is bad wait till you get to the 500k to rank region.
Back in p2 with less honor gains than we have now, i had 110k honor by the time i grinded 3k WSG rep to finish exalted as solo druid over the course of the week. Its more than doable now in battlegrounds

I like pvp, i love pvp and i life for pvp.
I agree that I don’t understand why people play activities they don’t enjoy… it’s a recreational activity and supposed to be fun.
The point is that it shouldn’t be the same amount of honor from rank 0 to cap (rank 7) as from rank 6 to 7.
It just punishes the people that pvp a lot…
Constantly pvping shouldn’t be the same result as pvping a lot in one week and then never again.

The issue isn’t the amount of honor you need, it’s the lackluster amount you get from doing BGs. Doing them outside of the weekend is a complete waste of time, and doing them during the weekends is still a grind that takes 15+ hours of BG spam during that 4 day window. A simple buff to honor gains would be such an easy fix, but the dev team can’t be asked because they don’t care about making PvP enjoyable.
You can just reach the minimum breakpoints per week and continuously make progress albeit slower and having to do a little more, but you can still make progress none the less. I wouldn’t say constantly pvping is needed to get the current ranks, the 110k i got last patch was over the course of 4 days for just a couple of hours in the evening when i had nothing else to do.
You can’t go from rank 0 to rank 7 in one go anyways, you have to go rank 1-4 and then rank 4-7, the system isn’t great but its better than it was in era. Lower ranks were intentionally easier to get and it progressively scaled higher and higher as you ranked making you require more.

The system is indeed beyond stupid. Especially when we get to higher ranks and are basically forced to do it in as few push weeks as possible where u need to farm insane amounts of honor. It wouöd be alot better if it was doable by doing a more moderate amount over longer periods of time
The current system is just an unholy amalgamation of older systems with terrible bandaid fixes. They should just toss the whole system and start over.

I dont understand this system at all… I am now rank 3 at 80%. I thought it was impossible to go to rank 7 in one week? What am I missing here?
It is impossible to rise from rank 1 to 7 in 1 week. OP is writing about something he doesn’t know.

Really so I am at rank 3 at 80%. Ranker says iam rank 6 at 30% next week with 77,500 honor. I have 79K now. How much would I need for rank 7 than?
you cant go rank 7 from 3 no matter how much honor you do, first you need get rank 4 and then you need 110 k honor

In all honesty I think this was designed by a behavioral psychologist who specializes in addiction techniques. Games are not as innocent as some believe them to be.
I played back in vanilla and can remember the amount of time people put into pvp, it was their entire life basically, think how much time it took to get to highwarlord
Their must be therapists who have had to try deprogram people addicted to pvp
Your ranking decayed if you didn’t play also - can’t let them off the lease that easy

Yeah, I cannot believe I have to actually put in the effort to get the gear. Do you know how little time I have to play this game? I have to pick up my wife and my kids at 4, and then I have to get home and make food. At 8 PM my kids have to be tucked in, and I have to be in bed by 10 PM. Just give me the loot for free already!
