Didn’t particularly enjoy playing it, comma, however, I did find the competitive tournaments they had on Twitch to be a fun to watch.
PvP is by definition toxic, because you can only win/progress by stopping others from doing so. If I could collect my stuff without getting bothered as long as I don’t attack others, I might actually like the game mode.
That’s an odd definition of toxic. It’s just playing the game.
Tien you might actually like Plunderstorm, because engaging in PvP is entirely optional unless you get unlucky and drop right next to someone else.
That’s a giving.
Once people hit Renown 40 queues started to get significantly longer as less people played. Yet there’s people here saying the mode was a “success”. People only endured it for the rewards.
I came “first” plenty of times but intentionally let myself die so the other fella could get their FoS.
In all likelihood there’ll be another FoS with “Season 2” attached.
Well, success or not is something only Bizzard can say for sure, as I don´t recall any Plunderstorm numbers ever being released aside from that short summary video like a week before the end…
But even if they were to release them, it´s the m+ participation numbers issue with a Plunderstorm logo… because nobody can reliably say how many of those players actually enjoyed the mode, and how many were funneled /coerced /“forced” to play it only for rewards they couldnt readily get elsewhere…
We only know that the latter group absolutely must exist and be more than one individual, and can speculate that the number is probably larger than most would want to admit if they actually knew it, in both cases … but again, only Blizzard knows for sure, and they also (should) have the heatmaps to show whether most people are actively playing, or just farming and quitting…
I hope they offer the same rewards as last time and not introduce new ones, also locked behind a several hundred hour grind during a limited period.
A lot of people hate-played the last one just for the rewards, which wasn’t fun for the pvp’ers or the pve’ers.
The gamemode, without the insane grind required for the cosmetics, was actually not bad. I really think it would have been received better if it wasn’t for the absurd amount of games needed for the mogs.
Of course people don’t HAVE to play, but that’s not how addiction works. Addicts and mog-junkies will burn themselves out by forcing themselves to endure through this, which is unhealthy for the players, but looks good on the participation metrics.
Blizzard knows this. That’s why they do it. I think it’s borderline predatory.
Hilariously, I am a transmog-junkie and mount farmer (BTW, still waiting on that updated achievement, Blizz…)…
But this amount of time (assuming it´c comparable to V1) is just way overdoing it for anything that isn’t providing me with sexual favors
Meh, wasn’t very good at it last time. Just kept getting ganked while waiting on progress bars.
Will give it another try as I trained myself to not be intimidated by PvP games over the last few years so I get less of the panic button bashing I was always doing.
I’d prefer a WotLK remix event instead, though. I wasn’t a huge Panda fan but the MoP remix was pretty good.
That is remarkably noble
Same, but transmog for me. I don’t care about the mount.
i care about both. but it depends by the effort required. ps was interesting for a while. after that it became a forced chore.
Nope, because every time I see a hostile HP bar I’ll need to hide, run away or just generally panic - I hate “open world pvp” since I was forced (due to friends playing there) to make my fist characters in the game on a PvP server and got ganked while leveling.
No, PvE is just playing the game, working together with others to progress; PvP is harassing others whether they want to fight or not; there should be no rewards in WoW that can only be reached through PvP, so this kind of behavior remains voluntary. Plunderstorm is about finding treasures and collecting plunder; I should be allowed to do do without getting jumped by bloodthirsty ppl who won’t let me mind my own business.
If it dont have ranked mode → titles wont play.
Oh for sure. But if the rumours are true and you can just earn currency to buy what you want, that’s better than grinding X number of Renown levels to get to the reward you really want.
EDIT: Ion confirmed it in the Warcraft Direct stream.
Lmao, you opt into a pvp enviroment, there’s nothing “toxic” about playing it as it’s intended.
It’s no more toxic than playing football with your buds and having the concept of goals acknowledged.
Let’s see if cosmetic rewards would be worthy, also event gives tender. I might do it partially or to full extend depending on rewards. I can’t say I enjoy it, I hate it when people find exploits in the event system and take advantage of it.
You beat me to the response. By that definition the whole game is then toxic.
wow. i dont like a lot pvp. but this is another level. were you ganked often?
