The return of the paper tanks

Paper Tank: A tank that loses health really quickly.

Because I really want to level an alt, I decided to do it through the LFD tool. So, I end up with these absolutely paper tanks . Can’t take even one hit before their health is halfway, and I have to run all my cooldowns just to keep them alive. On top of that, they’re bad at aggro management, and the rest of the party pulls more than them. So, I have to double-time it twice.

My theory is that their just a bunch of DPS-only players that want to get a queue fast and, as a result, end up in a role that they’re not only poorly equipped for but also have no clue about.

Or maybe we are dealing with the garbage waste 2 cultists like the Elder Scrolls Online community dealt one year ago. And everyone knows these idiots can’t play anything, no matter how big their achievements are in that Pay To Earn mobile phone app.

So, it makes sense why these tanks are trash, because in Garbage Waste 2, they have only one role, and that is dps, with the option to ERP as a support or tank. Sorry, not tank, but green bar DPS.

If you are using the LFD tool, you are not in the position to file a complaint. They are new learners, be kinder to them. A failure there means nothing, there is no reason to call on them trash. . . This action is the reason the community is toxic now.

Reminder the past, where if there is a mistake, we laugh and joke about this as a comedy. No problem. But mystic dungeon and mystic pvp comes a long to attract the esport player, it turns a delight game into a frown game.

Or maybe more people are willing to try out tanking which is a win for everyone. New players or players trying out new roles/specs are the lifeblood of any game, be kind to them and teach them, don’t berate them. Or if you can’t help them for whatever reason, just drop group and try again, taking the penalty.

Incompetence is a win for no one.

Incompetence requires patience and perserverance to become competence. Nobody is excellent from the get-go.

The problem is that if you want to learn you don’t throw yourself blindly at it. How in hell starts at the highest difficulty of Dragonfight?
People that don’t want to learn, that how. It is clear that these hacks just want a fast que for the achievements , even though they are faster easier way to complete the monthly reward track.
Also, i have the right to complain , because they know their jumping with other people and don’t bother even to change their gear, even though in many of those cases is heirloom gear. Just because it is LFD doesn’t mean you get a free pass to waste other peoples time. If you are not prepared for a role jump in to something easier or que as something that you are prepared for .
I ruined my dps to play the healer role.

When lvling I always tell healers to go dps. Tanks can perfectly keep themselves alive, for some reason healers still think it’s required to spam heals on a tank. You’re probably fooling yourself, or you’re getting queued up with absolute noobs.

Same for M+ up to 15, tanks don’t need heals, at all. Just dps as a healer and keep people alive who fail mechanics.

I see some people here were straight up gangsta from the day they left the womb.

Pretty much this, they are going at it as a dps and don’t know about the tank skills. How to lower incoming damage and so on.
Same for dps going as healers which is just as bad…

If they are infact new at it and want to make an honest try of it then great! Help them out. But if they are dps that is just abusing the system for a shorter queue then put them on the ignore list and move on. Sadly with the merged/crossed realms this isn’t that great of an option anymore…

on which level ?

super ? low ? no wonder - they lack most of tools they have on high levels.

60-70 ? no wonder - all 300 + itlv mythic SL geared tanks are max level now. so you are stuck with 100 itlv very low hp very low geared tanks .

thats why making whining threads early in expansion was a funny idea for me :stuck_out_tongue: when lfg was flooded with 300 + itlv tanks

Practice makes perfect only if you know what you’re doing. Otherwise your just jumping blind into things. When you start a job what is the first thing they ask you ? What did learn and do you have experience? Not , throw you to the lions and hope you manage.

Exactly.
This is true.
I do this aswell

cant be, i leveld 5 tanks and queued a lot of dungeons to lvl.
my tanks were mostly below ilvl 200, so pretty garbanzo.

in basically every dungeon

  1. i was top dps
  2. i was top heal
  3. i did not need a single heal
  4. in paladins case i was also healing the group so the healer can completely spec dps
  5. i pulled half dungeon and did not even lose hp, especially on pala and warrior

when i queued on my healer i also had some of these paper tanks.
basically they do not use buttons at all. neither dmg buttons nor mitigation. if you see a tank doing 2k dps you know already whats up

This is the reason why newcomers are leaving the game.

You said nothing about highest difficultly in your OP.

If their tanking is as bad as your articulation of the situation then oof.

He is talking about leveling dungeons, so this topic is a golden facepalm.

What your saying is that it is okay to ruin someones experience , because you don’t want to spend 5 mins looking up a guide or choosing an expansion with easier dungeons?
Also , there better ways to earn the achievements for the reward track than ruining someone else’s experience.
Once you enter a instance it stops being a single player experience and you have to think about the other people’s experience two , other wise you are a egotistical jerk.
There are tools out there to help you not be one that are 100% free. So, you have no excuse to not use them .

Because their bad? Because I didn’t tell them anything in the dungeon.

Elitism towards new tanks-players sounds more jerk’ish to me.

But running someones experience isn’t ?
