I can’t find the pic I was hoping to use to show what my bnet use to look like back in 2019

But let’s just say over 40 people online , playing all the different Blizzard games.
I had so much choice to play back then. It wasn’t just WoW or play WoW or some more WoW.
I used to get to enjoy playing Overwatch , Heroes , D3 , Starcraft 2 custom maps with people I met in WoW.
My gaming experience on battlenet was a place I enjoyed logging onto.

" What shall I play today ?"
Now it’s so empty , no one even touches hearthstone anymore.
All I see is wow classic wrath , wow classic , wow classic hardcore
Where’s the retail players at ? I see them only come online after 8pm to do another bloody mythic + . Is that what retail has become ? A mythic + waiting room ?

Sigh it’s just so sad to see how Blizzard one of my favourite gaming companies with a wealth of IPs either dead or the brink of dying.

What makes it worse , the only game according to them that’s making any money is bloody Diablo immortal .

I hope at Blizzcon , Blizz have something more up their sleeves more than just another wow expansion , another hearthstone expansion … They need new IPs. The " new expansion " fatigue is becoming boring for most. Same with seasonal stuff , I see absolutely no hype for the new OW2 halloween season online , Diablo 4 season coming next week again the content creator seems happy , the players don’t care.

My WoW friends list again is becoming shorter and shorter because there’s nothing to play other than WoW. Surely Blizz can see that ?
What’s sad about Heroes of the Storm was , it was making money , the reports show it was … but it wasn’t making LoL kind of money so they just abandoned it.
Hearthstone is becoming too bloated , I remember a time when people got excited for a new story expansion. Yes Excited.
Overwatch 2 killed Overwatch.
Starcraft 2 … we should have had a Starcraft 3 announcement by now.
Diablo 4 should have been delayed

What can Microsoft do ? they bought Actiblizz for Cod and Candy Crush , I can’t see how they would care for this almost 20 yr old mmo.

My friends list has ever evolved and even had two full clear outs so far. I believe we have a much higher limit now which is good.

You can always seem when some game is new or has a promotion. Suddenly your friends list is a big stream of the same icons.

As for Microsoft, I don’t believe they are going to scrap any money maker. Which includes WoW. At least all the deal has been approved now and has no more obstacles.

yes it has become a waiting room and people are happy with that unfortunately. they don’t care as long as m+ experience is ‘‘good’’ in terms of their definition of good.
about blizzard, new cod game and d4 season will heat it up bnet a bit but they definitely need a new game . warcraft rpg/new mmo would be great. i don’t think the rumoured survival game will help.

i don’t think microsoft cares much about wow and they know it’s disposable at this point. they already said that expanding to mobile was the thing that helped to their decision on buying actiblizz. they %100 will make new warcraft games/movies tho they won’t scrap the whole universe but i don’t think current world of warcraft will get much attention.

There are 94 Final Fantasy game in total , Amazing IP

Warcraft has 6 . Four of them are World of Warcraft Variants , Hearthstone and Warcraft 3 reforged. Soon to have royal rumble making it 7.
But Warcraft could expand so much more , many people have been asking for a single player RPG , set in the Warcraft universe.
We could even have an assasins creed/shadows of Mordor-esque game with a rogue going through the warcraft universe.
We could even have a god of war like game in the Warcraft universe.

Suprised we haven’t had a dynasty warriors kind of game ? Tactics game etc

It just seems odd to put all eggs in one basket their mmo and milk and juice it to the point where the player base is the smallest it’s been in over 15 years.

Starcraft amazing games , amazing lore , amazing universe … Blizz have tried to pretend it doesn’t exist.

I just don’t get why they can’t work on successful models from other gaming companies. If it’s not generating 1 billion per quarter , it’s waste of time.
I don’t get it so many games have made fortunes , selling over time , no microtransactions in them ( except story DLC) why is that just not good enough ?

When you champion Final Fantasy but at the same time condemn microtransactions:-

I can’t help but point that one out everytime.

Now don’t get me wrong I think the FF store is fabulous. And I have nothing against it myself. But then I’m not upset that Warcraft has a limited store either.

I mean I still remember the guy that was arguing that 25$ for a mount in WoW was not ok, but 80$ for a mount in FF14 was a bargain because it was an 8 person mount (or something like that).

oh yeah 100% blizzard has lost its way,
mistake after mistake in recent years. ignorantly telling us what they think we want " dont you have phones? "
and all the controversial things that has happened

do i think they can capture the magic it once had, yes to an extent.
will the reputation of blizzard get back to a AAA studio, no
do i purchase each game of blizzard on release day, not anymore

i like to think everyone is more cautious with blizzard and less likely to spend money on their products

i do hope they turn it around but its unlikely

Agree, but it doesn’t end at in-game store. People that praise FF14 here tend to bring up only the “good*” aspects of that game and ignoring which parts WoW does better (and by better we are talking miles ahead).

*After playing trough pretty much everything that was part of the free trial in FF14 I haven’t seen anything good soo I really don’t get where all that hype was coming from.

I have friends how love FF and moved over to that. I have tried twice to get into it but I just don’t take to it like WoW. I love various aspects of the game but I just want those things incorporated into WoW :laughing:

Too much forced woke thrown straight to our faces, same decline with netflix, disney etc.

Some of the solo/casual stuff yes maybe, but most of the things people were screaming they wanted in those days (All classes in 1 character for example) I just hated.

I would love to do all professions on just my main. I only run an army of paladin alts to do them on those xD

From a selfish PoV I can get that and want that, but if everyone could have all of the professions that would ruin the economy. I mean if anyone could be self sufficient why not be?

It’s all I do with an army of alts instead of one. I wouldn’t be able to cap all knowledge points any faster doing it on my army of seven vs one proff master.

Removing Tigereye Brew and giving Windwalkers a copy of Avenging Wrath in the form of Serenity is not great fantasy.

don’t care about the talents/spells it’s been 7 years . it has class halls, mage tower, great chars. that represent your class . amazing bosses, superb story. none of them exist in dragonflight we just kill big human-lizards as bosses now.
