Warcraft was NEVER anything like The Witcher. So I don’t understand that desire.

I think too many people are pushing against what they perceive as ‘wholesome & cutesy’ by going even more extreme than Warcraft ever was. I definitely don’t want WoW to be dark and gritty and full of violence, gore and adult themes. I really don’t. That is not what Warcraft ever was.

The old addage ‘be careful what you wish for’ comes to mind.

That’s not to say that it can’t go more ‘Warcraft’ again. I’m not against THAT.
I’m all for big action moments with over the top cheesy heroics and bad-assery.
I’m all for a threat that feels threatening. I’m all for a more balanced mix of ‘grungy metal’ and ‘funny tongue-in-cheek’.

But… I don’t want WoW to become The Witcher or Game of Thrones. Because that’s not what it ever was in the first place.

I didn’t mean that wow & Witcher 3 had a similar story. I just want an RPG that plays like Witcher 3 did and I want it to have more mature themes like Witcher 3 did, not for it to be exactly the same.

Going the full on Game of Thrones route would be too much, I agree. However if I have to pick between two extremes i’d rather have that over what we have right now.
