The state of herbalism ~ TRIGGERING

People love herbalism, everyone has it as their professions. There’s a guy right under this post almost, who’s claiming to have made millions of gold on siren’s pollen alone.

This is triggering. Not for him, but for those who dont sell their herbs, but actually use them on pots.

Blizzard made a hotfix to the flasks and anchor weeds, which was nice, but flasks were never the problem…

Potions on the other half… It requires me to farm for an hour just to have enough potions for a maximum of 2-3 dungeons. I need to herb half the day, if I want 50 pots, which is required for progress raiding.

It is burning me out and I see more and more people throwing the towel, and stop using potions; that is not how it is supposed to be. We need 10 Siren’s Pollen for 1 potion, but Blizzard forget how fast you use potions…

Bring back legion system please… :frowning:

For the majority of the expansion buying potions was way cheaper than crafting them because the herb price was obscene. It still is.

Taking into account level 3 crafting, you come pretty close to average 2 pots per attempt.

I want to be able to resource my own potions, without having to buy potions on the auction house. Those weeks where I didnt have the time to farm the herbs, before raiding or doing dungeons, I bought them on auction house, and I spend easily 40k on Siren’s and Riverbud, which would be enough for 1 raid night.
That is obscene.

So much this. Legion was much better in terms of herbalism, even with rng on rank 2 and 3 for herbs. Each zone had its own herb so if you needed Starlight Rose, you could just farm it in Suramar since it was the only herb found in that zone. BfA is terrible in that regard, there are hardly any solid methods for farming a specific herb since everything can pop up everywhere. Only exceptions are Akunda’s Bite for Vol’dun and Winter’s Kiss for Drustvar, but those two aren’t used for any potions anyway.

On my main character that I herb on, I am level 3 crafting of course. But they hardly proc. Maybe every fourth will proc. I dont know if I am unlucky. On flasks I can get 23x procs sometimes, and I will have enough flasks for weeks.
On pots I proc its a whole other story… 2-3 procs on every fourth or fifth

Eh, I use prolonged potions for progression (and they’re actually better for a tank anyway, not from a dps standpoint but still). No need to waste endless amount of herbs on each pull especially if our best attempt is at 90% or something.

The average is actually around 1.4 per cast. Information taken from a wowhead comment who took note of over 5k crafts.

I don´t rly get you, either you don´t know where or how to farm or you just lie about the fact that you have to farm half a day.
It takes me 1 hour for farming atleast 200 pots.

Alchemy makes pots, not herbalism. This is an alchemy problem. If you want to look deeper into it too you can apply it to feasts. Holy crap theres a lot of stuff needed to make them.

Good luck getting it changed. 10x multi boxer farming is some serious cash. And 10 extra subs per PERSON. Take away obscene herb price and blizz will literally lose millions per month. It’s lame, but the cold, hard truth.

I whould be fine with it if i could trade in hydrocores like felbloods in legion. Being quite designated cauldron maker for my guild herbs the least of my issues… expolsum on the other hand.

However It seem like you haven’t found your herbing routes yet. Riverbuds and Siren’s pollen are pretty easy to farm. Now if only siren’s pollen and starflowers could spawn anchor weeds it whould make me a happy panda.

Good thing fishing is really quite relaxing (unless you’ve got Warmode on, I suppose). Put on a nice ol’ podcast or some music or even an audiobook or a lecture off Youtube or whatever you’re into, settle down somewhere with a fine view and few hostile mobs, and just chill for a while.

Sure, it’s not exactly “fun”. But it’s something to do when I want to listen to something and the weather’s too bad for going for a walk.

I play with warmode on but the fish required can be fished up at any seabound waters on Kul Tiras (for me this includes the horde base in Tirisgarde), or any inbound waters on Zandalar (which includes our capital).

However 15 of each fish per feast is an astronomical amount to fish up to prepare for a raid. The meats and other ingredients are very easy to come buy but even if I spend an hour fishing it’s not a significant number of fish for feasts.

I like when stuff’s not easly accessible.

makes me want to appreciate every drop of potion i swallow, every bite i take off my feast and what not.

Raiding is expensive. You made millions in legion garrison missions.
Now use it up.

200 pots per hour ? please … Clearly you’re one of those people that are currently making potions and not using them.

Blood sausages coming next patch will kinda solve that, but it will invalidate all other food, so not sure if that’s a good thing.

I never liked the removal of more unique foods like MP5.
