Yeah this is not meant to be a “boohoo for me i’m not having fun anymore” kind of post, and sorry if it sounds a little dramatic but it’s just what i’m truly feeling atm. I’ll also not delve on the class problems and how to fix them ( the mana problem, lack of coherence and utility, identity problems, etc have all been repeated in this forums past the point where blizzard should’ve taken notice anyway)
The reason i’m posting it is because it’s a true shame given that this expansion launch is likely the most fun i’ve had in an MMO in a long time. I like M+ , i like the raids , i like the progress structure (even if it could use some tweaking, especially in crafting).
But as I push to go into harder content i find myself feeling like I’m pointlessly shooting myself in the foot at all times by playing this spec , like I’m being punished for not minmaxing when I chose my class/spec and just discarding this god forsaken spec right out of the gate (screw me for trying to pick something up based on the mechanics that seem the most fun right blizzard?), and it’s not like I feel a compulsive need to top HPS parsers (honestly i find that kind of dumb past a certain threshold), it’s just that feeling of, again, utter punishment for simply playing this class.
And even worse, THAT’S NOT EVEN THE WORST PART, what’s actually making me want to just forget about this game and unsub is the UTTER SILENCE from the devs’ part, other classes get adjustments we don’t even get an ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of what is clearly a ton of long standing identified issues (i found tons of people warning of this WAAAAY before the expansion even released in a recent search through the community forums) and we’re going on over a MONTH now since release. Given the state the spec is in this is completely unacceptable, and if you play this game, whether you play a broken class or not, you shouldn’t be ok with it either, this is the most popular MMO that ever existed and it’s completely inexcusable
Edit: Aaaand another batch of class adjustments and not even a mention of the numerous complaints about mistweaver.

Could you please summarize what makes it bad? I’m honestly curious because, like you, I enjoy the mechanics and was considering playing a mw alt for a bit.
The problem is that other healers are just better. They have better utility, better group/raid cooldowns, same healing output, less mana issues.

Why do you stalk these forums just to tell people, ie everyone else, that they are bad and should just play as well as you?
I have had no problems doing most content but the reality stands: We are awful at pvp, worse than others at m+ and okay for raids.
You shouldn’t have a class that takes more effort for less results, it’s just awful design that needs to be fixed and most people who touch the class agree. Stop being this childish prick that comes to the forums to flaunt how much supposedly better you are. Unironically get a life.

I watched Mysticall MW pvp streamer do a shriekwing mythic kill, he had other healers mana visible during the fight. He finished in like 7% mana, while shaman was on 70% ish. I just don’t see that as “balanced” enough.
I watched his arena climbs and he is really inspiring me to reroll sometimes.

Exactly Pebls. Worse than others and okay for raids. This is also one of the very few times I actually post in here, so I am not sure what you mean by “stalking these forums”. I personally think MW is good for raids, but I can see why you would think otherwise.
The problem is that people call MW unviable and worst healer by far and mana starved when it’s flat out wrong.
It’s very hard for shamans to oom themselves on low HPS fights like Shriekwing.
I saw good answer on US forum. I will quote him ‘Community perception has already been set’. It’s social game, and a lot of people will be rejected because of this. And silence from devs won’t make it better. Suggestion like ’ MWs are bad and even blizzard forgot this spec’.
I respect you position, I’m agree that in PvE MW is not so bad. I’m very casual player but I used to my mistweaver in dungeons and I managed to have fun. Except PvP which is disgusting now.
But MW is bad designed class now. I doesn’t worth to spend effort to master it for average player. Gamedesigners doesn’t have any idea how spec should work, it seems like Patchwerk, a bunch of good intentions which are not synergize to each other, it’s good design for wow classic, not for 2020. Spec needs rework.

Unless you are pushing for rank 1 parse in mythic raids or trying to heal m+ 25 it really doesnt matter.

classes need to be balanced compared to each other, there’s no such thing as “good enough”. period.

And healers classes are more closely balanced right now than they have been in any recent memory.
Yeah, really balanced, on raider io a half of top healers are shamans. Arena ladders shows 7 mistweavers and 683 Holy Paladins above 2k. Exceptionally balanced game.

Believe me, it was worse in BFA.
I just started playing MW monk in SL after 15 years as resto druid. I felt the MW spec is somehow weak and wanted to check forums if other players have this idea also. Yet on every topic I see you defending MW monk with one single argument which is git gud. Just honestly tell me, do you have nothing better to do with your life than trolling every single monk post on EU forums? Seriously get some life. This is super pathetic even for a troll to spend whole day defending obviously completely broken spec 24/7. If you are frustrated with life perhaps talk to your parents or find professional help but dont spam these forums, it wont help neither the subject nor your mental health.

What makes you say I am a troll? The fact that I am arguing against the people saying that the spec is unviable or underperforming? How does that make me a troll? How about you go speak to MW theorycrafters or people in top guilds who are pushing top 50 world ranks? The fact that you think someone else needs to find “professional help” for speaking up on a forum about how wrong people are, is actually more fascinating than anything. I guess this is how the average WoW forum poster thinks.
You call the spec “obviously completely broken” and say that my only argument is “git gud”, but if you actually took a moment out of your day to educate yourself, then you would see how wrong you are. I will gladly go over logs if anyone needs help, but you gotta put in the effort too instead of whining “spec is bad” when you are clearly in the wrong.
If MW is viable for Mythic Denathrius and the fights leading up to it, then I’m pretty sure it’s viable for your guild Heroic raids lol
