The toxicity of our city

The problem is you have 3 kinds of players here:

  1. The players who have played through it. Put time and patience into mastering the challenge and have completed 1 or 2 or all of the challenges.

  2. Players who have put time and effort into it, but just aren’t able to get through, even after as many tries as above. These people, get some of the tactics, but maybe a small nerf would help them out.

  3. People who want it to be free loot.

The thing is none of these people are wrong. But to the number 1 player who might turn around and say “It’s easy, get better at playing the game”, the number 3 Player saying “this is content from 2 expansions ago, it should be easier, I just want the transmogs” is just as Toxic as the way it’s reversed.

The number 2 seems to be stuck in the middle of the 2. They enjoy the challenge, they want a little bit help to get through, but wouldn’t complain if it’s a walk in the park.

From my experience, I have completed my first challenge. I remember going in and thinking this is a mess, but as I got through it started to become clearer and clearer.

I’m not about to start on my 2nd challenge, its a complete mess. But I know if I keep going with it, it will all become clear.

Well when/if you do you’ll see if it’s:
a) the same
b) easier
c) harder

I honestly and most probably won’t be able to compare the difficulty just from memory of something I did 4 years ago and haven’t played the spec since, which is why I’m sceptical of people confidently saying it was much easier back then.

But I was talking in the more broader sense. The guardian challenge was only an example I could use because I’ve personally done in during Legion. I’ve seen people complain about every single one of the challenges.

  1. solo players what plays alone what does not interact anyway with a other player.

whats accualy the best players they just mind their own bissness :stuck_out_tongue:

It was a M+18. We were w8ting for 35 mins for a tank. The keyholder was rightfully on a knife-edge for key, can’t blame him. A druid with 2.6k rio applied and entered. We summoned him but there was a moment of silence. Keyholder asked for 10k with whispering said tank asks total 60k and if other 3 gives 10k, he is ready to give 30k himself because he w8 too much for this. Keyholder was 2.1 rio so they were not a team. This is the community and this is the game for this terrible community.

Considering it’s solo content, I kinda had that one as a given ;).

I completely agree that the re-release of MT has been handled very poorly by blizz. There should’ve been templates, or at least some very transparent and logical restrictions. It feels awful doing it over and over with your mind obsessing over whether its actually possible with your gear and consumables, and how much easier it would be with “bis legacy”.

The main issue I have with people complaining about the difficulty is that it should be directed at the lack of templates/gear+consumables transparency, rather than the actual difficulty. Also the time in which its active is way too short (albeit 2 weeks extra).

I think most people would feel entirely different about it if they knew everyone was on completely equal footing, and that it’d be up for a year or more.

edit: no idea how my post ended up as a reply to you. It was aimed @OP

Damn, the player in Oribis was right 70k was too high for a +2.

Did you pay?

Those 2 words i hate with a passion.

Yeah for damn sure. I did Imp mother on the first tower spawn. Took me near 100 attempts and a whole lotta nethershards. I think I was 910 ilvl. Even back then I wasn’t an amazing player. I made a lot of stupid mistakes. Mistakes I didn’t make as much of this time around. My issues with the TW version was the lack of damage and utility I have now compared to back then. Odyn’s Fury, Shockwave, The old Battle cry CD were amazing compared to the empty class I have now. Take away all our borrowed power and I feel like I’m playing classic TBC

I completely agree about template gear, to remove the desire to get the BiS equipment. But I completed my Challenge in just SL gear, so I know it’s possible. It’s just that player mentality doesn’t think like that anymore. It’s not about how to I beat this challenge, it’s what can I get to make this challenge easier for me.

And I also agree that a lot of the stress revolves around the amount of time for its availability.

But then, I suppose Blizz didn’t launch this expecting everyone to go bat crazy trying to complete it all in the first sitting. However, when it was just 2 weeks I was only really planning on doing 1 or 2 Challenges. Now its 4 weeks, I’m considering going for all 7.

What exactly do you need to spend money on that costs copper to make, but is being sold for extreme prices?

It’s definitely a skill issue but that’s probably 50% of the issue. The other 50% is a mixture of Overtuning (Not taking into account how strong borrowed power is in SL) and BiS gear for MT being gear from 8 years ago that now is horrendously priced thanks to blacksmiths, LWers, tailors and JCers exploiting the demand. So while skill is the biggest %, it’s not something that can be fixed on Blizzards end. They can’t make players more skilled but what they can do is maybe tune it properly and completely disable gear, gems, enchants etc and just have a set template for each spec so it’s challenging and you don’t have to spend time, money and effort before the challenge is even attempted. It’s supposed to be a challenge of skill. Not a challenge of how much gold you have to spend.

Crafted dreadful gear, Cata Gems and MoP enchants. Look on the AH right now and tell me they are reasonably priced for the mats required.

I love them.

I like beating challenging games because I got better, not because they nerfed mechanics/ bosses.

Probably, but also, the people I see using “git gud” are usually the most toxic and worst players… lol.
They just developed a superiority complex overtime that stops them from improving and they use their free time to bully other players out of frustration…

I think they simply put the bar too high for what type of content this was supposed to be.

Like it should be more of a fun event, if this was a place where I could get some cool High ilvl gear or something really cool and unique for every spec then sure, it could have been appropriate.

But we are talking about a recolored mog that’s already in game.

While I do agree that people nowadays prefer crying over trying to overcome a challenge, I still think it’s important to attach a difficulty that should be right for the content you are releasing and in this case it did not happen.

So if a majority has this ‘skill issue’ is it still just a ‘skill issue’? Or maybe, just maybe, the content is too hard?

one way to fix wow would be to go from gear dependant to pure skill set the gear score required for raids and mythics much lower stop all boosting for whatever reason stop botting in all its forms and get the next expac out as soon as possible then and only then wow might just might be saved from oblivien it is in the last chance saloon so its time blizz realised this and get their act together if that is even possible anymore

Most people will need the extra gem slot gear and special trinkets. SL gear often doesn’t cut it and that is a shame. It should have been based on SL gear. Not X expansion mixed with X expansion consumebles.
