The "trilogy" that should have been 1 expansion

Story wise as well as game wise, they separated 1 expansion worth of content , to 3, to milk people with 3 times x 90 euros instead of just one time.

TWW could have been 11.1 , Midnight 11.2 and the last titan 11.3 …but you know what? Waiting 1.5 years to see Xal power up an artifact sounds cooler, right? Other than disc quest and energy levels, TWW didnt give anything to the story, just highschool girl attitude, Alleria being mad to her bully Xal who doesnt do jacksh*t …just yapping , her power is still a mistery besides floating, throwing some shadowbolts before dimensius fight and vanishing when a proper fight starts.

You think Game development just happens automagically?

Sure, they could have split them up into 3 patches, but those patches would then be 1.5 years apart, instead of a few months.

Saying that full TWW expansion content is worth one major patch cycle is just crazy

This way the big bad can have more screen time before they kill them off. I like it this way tbh. One of the problems I had with both SL and DF is that the enemy they introduced died in the same expansion.

its an early weekend thread

Content wise probably not, but the story does feel very shallow and full of filler in tge first expansion alone. Like the 3 patches we got feel more like random events than parts of a saga. Yes they have an element that holds them togheter, but its more like bubble gum than glue. P1 we chase Xal’atath and brake her fidged spinner, P2 she enlists the help of Gallywix (why him exactly no one knows), P3 her thingy gets stolen by randoes we know nothing about. Like the explanations for the story happening dont pass the “2 question test”. Now she is atacking Silvermoon and we know that zone 1 is Silvermoon, 2 is Ghostlands/Amani, 3 is Haranir and 4 is void. These 4 dont really feel connected either.

Not crazy, its realistic. A lot of recycled content and little to no progress to the story.

i dont care about the story anymore. its just seasonal gaming. mythic + is still the best in the business.

And M+ is also recycled content

so what? its great content.

Hmm i think i trust Metzen vision more than OP

I dont mind that. 4 new dungeons + 4 old ones, each season is more fun than 8-10 dungeons for 2 years. The problem I had with the rotation this expansion was that the old dungeons were from SL, and I hate everything from that expansion.

A lot more was from SL, including K’aresh…

its 50/50. half the dungeons are from this expansion half from others. rotating.

its better than having the same 8 for the entire expansion in every season tbh…

Please no I do not want another BFA where they speedrun us into the worst lore imaginable by consolidating way too much stuff in one expansion.

Azshara should’ve been their own expansion.

Nzoth should’ve been their own expansion.

TWW probably suffered the most cause thats where the rest got chopped from and had the least time to cook and I’m willing to have it be a flop if the alternative was bfa 2.0 into shadowlands 2.0 but with the writing we have today.

S1 was 4 TWW 1 cata, 1 bfa, 2 SL. S2 was 5 TWW, 2 BfA (mega dungeon split in 2) and 1 SL. S3 is 4 TWW from previous seasons, 1 new TWW dungeon, 3 SL dungeons.

So thats 10 TWW, 3 BFA, 6 SL and 1 cata.

you forgot argus. imho legion should have been 2 exp since Kj and the legion were the MAIN enemy since w1.
And not a pitiful 3 zones planet.

I see your point, I will say that the end of legion fitted for legion (sargeras stabbing the world), but the going to a different planet was a bit of a whiplash even with the explanation of it basically being a horcrux for the whole legion.

I just think its crap and calling whatever this is a “saga” is just for marketing reasons.

To be fair Gallywix have both resources and absolute lack of morals to use them for whatever cause needed even if it involves experimenting with freaking Old Gods Blood
