They figured they can’t allow our alts to gear too fast because then we would be back faster to whine about lack of content.

I already abandoned my alts personally, as for longer playtime, I find myself logging in less and less, certainly wont renew and will need to see positivity past the first 3 months of the next ex pac to even consider a purchase of it.
…but why is it such a big thing?
I mean, Valor is a finite resource to begin with, you can only earn 750 a week, so you want to upgrade items from a reasonable item level: +14/+15 end of dungeon loot, basically. So you go and farm those on the alts to have the base item to drop anyway. Boom, KSM on the alt too.
Can’t or don’t want to farm +14/+15? Then why does the alt need such level of gear to begin with?
This change brings valor upgrades closer to pvp upgrades, which isn’t terrible. Now, if they increased the cap to which we can upgrade, akin to pvp, then this’d be a great change.
During 9.0, people were complaining how gear upgrading for pve was account-wide and for pvp it was character-based. The insinuation was that valor upgrades should require having KSM on the character you’re upgrading, not that pvp gear upgrades shouldn’t be tied to rating.
So Blizz listened to the complainers and now there’s more complainers.

I personally never got use of the valor system for my alts even when it was finally implemented 
same here - played 3 toons in 9.0 - now im only playing my hunter
cba to keep up with more then 1 toon - its pointless and idiotic and not fun experience

This is purely done for engagement metrics and to force players to grind more and it’s a cheap move
Patch 9.2 has already been confirmed by Ion with Jailer being in raid and tier sets coming back it was all in blizzcon online in Feb so please stop with the false narrative .
Its not shill at all just having a different view from yours and mine no need for you to attack on a personal level just focus on there views .
valor uppgrades, should not ever have been locked behind KSM in any ways or forms, it is extreamly stopid design, considering most people who would benefit from the uppgrades are those who do struggle to get a +15 in time done, what pretty much meens those who can do it, can uppgrade stuff but more or less do not need it, unless you are a top tier raider, who has to have 4 alts ready for a raid.
locking it behind KSM benefits the wrong audience, and it shows also, people insta quit a higher key, after one wipe, or even a few deaths becuse they do not want to waste time to get KSM now.
man first you need to loot your base items 233 in +15 , to start using your valor points or it’s just a waste of valors , so the time you loot all your bis pieces in m+ , you will get KSM naturally
So upgrade those items to a level the alt earned? If you’re not running high keys on the alt, why would it need gear gear way over what drops in the content it does? I mean, with Valor, you can already upgrade gear above the level that drops, so you’ll eventually outgear it anyway.

I feel like your mentality is the reason why the boosting market is so profitable.
You want to gate all gear behind “Content”, Behind “Difficulty”, Behind “Skill”
But imo Just let people gear up, in whichever way they feel like, even if it would be getting 252 items from world quests.
Not everyone gears up to do M+, PvP or raids.
They just want to have high gear, High power.
It’s just “Fun” to be more powerful.
Yes. I think high level gear should be earned, not handed out. And I say that as someone who doesn’t raid. It’s okay if others have better gear. Doesn’t hurt me in any way, so why care about what better gear they earned?
The content one does, should reward gear appropriate for said content. Currently, it more or less does so. Could it be improved? For sure. But this particular change, in practice, does little, really. It sounds much worse than it really is, if you stop for a minute to think about it.
You can gear up for world quests and pet battles from the mission table. Or from WQs, low keys, and so on. You do not need much gear for that.
Go do Torghast then, you can have some pretty darn big powers there, and your gear matters much less. 
Loot should not be free.
Then add it to the Blizz store so people can buy it.
That way, They get their ilvl, but the loot is not free
Tho obviously not in just you buy each specific piece.
But add those RnG raid loot chests that come in the M+ quest to the store.
you are playing a MMO dude , where time/difficulty = rewards
why a guy playing 10h/day would have the same gear as somebody playing 1h/day doing random quest .
I play Tons of other MMORPGs where you can pay for power & Progression as well.
and those are indeed more fun than WoW.
theses ‘‘fun’’ MMO are irrelevant to WOW when it come to playerbase , so WOW is fine and is doing the right thing
Step 1) Go to the Blizz store.
Step 2) Buy a lot of WoW tokens.
Step 3) Buy a large number of raid and m+ boosts from your favourite boosting community.
There you go. You can buy gear. You can also buy it with no real life money spent, if you’re good at making gold.
You can do that right now! It’s already there! You can buy KSM, for every alt!
