I haven’t seen much of this outside of a few specific classes, and I’m curious what the general stance on it is.
From what I’ve seen, it’s usually accepted when a Demon Hunter rolls up on a Felbat, and at times when a mage floats in on a hover-disc, is this also the case for other classes? Or is it the exact opposite, where it’s greatly frowned upon?

The warlock horse is extremely generic and I’ve seen it in use a lot of times.

I see paladins use theirs alot, but it wouldn’t make much sense for all warriors to have their own pet dragons to fly with.

That and the hunter wolfhawk mount/pet are something I’d be hesitant about, afaik there’s a very limited amount in existence.

Is there any other NPC pets like them infact? They seem very “limited” indeed.

The tameable ones are all named as well, there aren’t any generic versions. It’s one reason why I personally don’t use the hunter class mounts or that particular feathermane pet IC.

Pretty much as I expected then, where it makes sense they’re tolerated, but the ones that are almost impossible to replicate (like, indeed, the wolfhawk) are somewhat avoided. Ty for the answers me lads, like comment and subscribe.

I could see a Death Knight use one of the dragons, I think? Not that hard to imagine, if there is a back-story behind obtaining one of them. Personally, I often use the disc on my mage!

Where’s my squad of Uncrowned rogues only flying on giant ravens? HMMM?!? And no, for the love of God, there’s 0 explanation as to the source of giant ravens besides “duh it’s a gift from Lord Ravenholdt”.

Unfortunately (very sad since I love the way it looks) the priest mount is not useable for RP, as there are only three remaining in existence and all are in the possession of the priest PC.
Wolfhawks are pretty similar, there are like 4 or so in existence total. I do not think they should be used IC.
The frost wyrm is generic enough to be useable. Getting a frost wyrm at all will be a far greater hurdle than specifically getting the variant with a blindfold and stuff. The warrior mount is similar; there is nothing about that particular proto-drake that makes it unique, but proto-drakes in general don’t grow on trees (and neither do replacement limbs for those trying to train them).
For ravens I have no idea. There is no lore at all on them as far as I know so they fill a similar niche as the Pandaren Phoenixes. I suppose that means you can headcanon a bit, but as always, beware that others may not share your headcanon.

Yeah, I use the warlock ones because HD Dreadsteed.
I also use the wolfhawk because its cool and it matches the pet.
And the raven.

The raven should only be used by Gnomes. I have never seen a so big raven before! Shame on the Giant Growth Potion!
Most of them are too specific/rare to make sense, but then some kind of do/can make sense. Wolfhawks nah, they’re so rare that at that point you’re going along “I was the guy who killed Arthas” territory, but the Paladin mount? Well its a buff Horse. I mean, it is just a buff Horse essentially. This said, some of the more esoteric ones could also make sense. The Shaman Elemental? Sure, why not. The Shaman is summoning an Elemental and riding it around. We -know- Shamans can do that (Summon Elementals). The idea of riding around a vast fire being does sound a bit painful, but who knows, maybe it just doesn’t hurt the summoner…I mean its magic, we don’t have a Real life frame of reference, but we -have- done it before as quests, ridden Elementals… The Mage flying Disc? Well, yeah, its a magical flying disc. Mages do magic, and can make magic things. That is a magic thing. We know they have a certain amount of control over kinetic energy and gravity from a few of the Spells/Talents, so what’s to say that the Mage didn’t enchant a small platform to fly them around places… Its plausible.
The Uncrowned Raven? Well…I mean they’re not that common I imagine, but…well, we’ve just been introduced to a whole tribe of people who ride giant eagles, I mean, really -big- heavy people who ride giant eagles. Are Giant Ravens -that- weird in comparison?
I guess with some of the mounts it comes down to justification, as with many mounts and such things in RP…

I mean, aside from the priest one, that is explicitly stated that there’s only 3 left (I remember the hunter one being stated as rare), I feel the others are fine.
Being fair, I’m not going to complain if I see a priest riding the owl-cat IC since I do it with the wolfhawk.

You think a huge pet dragon is fine?
If we’re talking about the warrior one, its a proto-drake, they’re not intelligent like their drake cousins.
Unless there’s another dragon I don’t know about?

It’s accepted when the mount can be seen as something not specifically be the one that the leader got.
Holy horse? It’s fine.
Magical disk? Go ahead!
Proto-drake? Well, that’s gonna be a bit rare, but, just like the Deathlord’s mount, it could work.
And then there’s the stuff like the priest or hunter mount, which are either the last, or one of the last of their kind, in case of the latter, requiring a certain test which, apparently, is really tough to complete, to tame the others.
Edit: Mind you, while proto-drakes are not intelligent, they are, well… tamed by force…

But that does not explain the rarety of drakes in general, it wouldn’t make sence for all Warriors to have one.
Nah you’re right, warrior is a generic proto-drake.
Personally, I use the disc for my mage and I would use the frostwyrm for my death knight if the ICC achievement one wasn’t so much better. Same for the fel bat.
I don’t blame people who uses some headcanon to makes the hunter or priest ones works. Hell, you can pretend the priest one is a weird gryphon.
