Are you sure though? No really… We asked for less chores and mandatory content and borrowed power.

We are now having endgame patches with evergreen content planting seeds and superblooms.

What do you suppose will happen if we prune down our classes and gameplay? Like how much are we talking? You want it down to a 4 button mobile game or?

pruning went REALLLLLLLLLLLY well in bfa … /sarcasm

no we do not need a reset or prune

Only Restoration Shaman needs some ability pruning.
Do we really need a “poison cleansing totem” in addition to the 35 spells on our action bars?
I don’t mind having 35 buttons, but those buttons must do something meaningful when pressed.

All the other specs are fine.
New players aren’t going to be thrown in M+23 upon reaching level 70. It’s okay to slowly learn the game and adapt to its complexity - we all have.

Don’t equate ‘you want’ with ‘need’.

Also: How would Blizzard have to go about achieving a ‘reset’ and ‘debloat’ in your opinion?

ok thanks for your input very detailed

im a returning player
stopped in WoD but mainly played in WOTLK(when it was retail)
i liked Arcane mages or just mages in general
but when i saw Retail Arcane mage and theirs rotation
im like WTF has happen
from 4x arcane blast to (depend on your mana/proc) do more blasts or 1-2 spells

to like needing to do like 3-5 spells pre pull
and then basically need a PHD in order to do atleast decent with them
yeah this game needs a debloat

back to SoD
becuase GDKP legit made wotlk/vanilla classic unplayable for a returning player

I think we can all agree across the board… That Arcane mage opener is insane.

There is no button bloat in the game.

Also the prune from WOD-BFA didnt went well for most specs.

What this game needs is a dedicated continent on its own for new players. One that wont become outdated after some expansions.

Something like Exiles Reach, but from 1-60. With a million tutorials along the way. For DD, Healer and Tank. Plus those new sexy NPC dungeons. And an epic story to catch new players, but at the same time unrelated to the current or past WoW story lines. And cool cinematic. Like the Cataclysm trailer one.

At the end of the continent you get a level boost from 60 to [insert new level of relevant expansion], some green gear, and a cinematic that does a TLDR of the story so far.

DONE.

NO. What I do agree with is that any spec should have a “beginner friendly” talent choices that would allow you to do say… 70% / 80% of a perfect rotation with less buttons.

Sort of a “only passives” talent build. And from there, you can add complexity.

But just throwing new players with the optimum complex rotation day 1 of dinging 70 is a bit too much IMO.

But that is far from ability pruning.

Talent trees complicated the game a lot for most classes. It’s only going to get worse moving forward. A prune is inevitable.

You are delusional to think there would be “returning players”. The “returning players” would almost exclusively quit if WoW would be reset/shut down for a successor.

Sure, new players are always there. But WoW lives from its core audience, not from the new players.

Suggesting to reset the game is as volatile and braindead to say as demanding the US to shoot their nuclear ICBMs at Russia and not expecting them to follow the M.A.D doctrine (Mutual Assured Destruction).

Holy priest has abilities that are so niche that they’re barely worth pressing or even speccing into.

Renew - you don’t press it unless you have nothing else to cast and you’re on the move.

Power word: shield - you don’t press it unless someone is going to die unless you do. The cases this happens are very few. You can bolster someone’s effective hp beyond what they normally have but it’s usually just not doing much in the larger picture since the shield is so weak either way.

Heal - you basically never press it because LW is inferior to the MW build. Without LW the cast is too slow.

Divine hymn - it is a liability to even spec into and use in m+ and on top of that, it barely heals anything and you’d be better off triaging with flash heals/serenity/pw:life in most cases.

Nothing about the talent trees are complicated.

While leveling you pick what you want.
When you reach max lvl you choose talents that fit your content/playstyle.
When you get good enough at the game you can start the meta-builds and adapt.

There is no reason a new or bad player needs to follow any talents that they dont want, because for their content it hardly matters.

That actually sounds pretty good.
It would also be a new experience for players like myself who’ve done the content many times before. I’m all for it.

Than this is not a problem of the buttons but on their function/power.

Rather fixing iconic spells than removing them because they ‘‘dont do enough’’

I mean they could also do a questline for new players that tells the player the main points of the story of each addon. You dont need to go in depth with it but atleast explain so much people can get the main-points of the lore.

I would love if they would make a quest that is a little bit like warcraft3.

But that wont happen since its too much effort

Just ask them to delete the game, and well I don’t know, make wow2. /s

Nah, this is the 100th post about this, and it’s still wrong.

Iv’e already said my piece on other posts, so i won’t really delve further into this here.

So throw away many millions of dollars of revenue? Right.
