Sometimes players would challenge me to show a unique mount and we would compare them. One mount i used to show off was the X-53 touring rocket. It was kind of a show off piece for recruiting a friend back in WOTLK. Not only did it show how long I had been playing, but also that I did a task that at a time not many people rarley did.
Now as of today, almost everyone has it. Gj Blizz.
You got it in MoP and it must have been hard to find a rare mount as you have only 258.
Same as Cindermane you got last year on TP and the Zebra.
I also have it from R-a-F. Since 19.12.2010 according to the achievement. Would’ve preferred that it remained unique too, that’d they’d put a recolour on the trading post instead, but that ship had already sailed with previous promotional mounts. There was no reason to believe this one would remain sacred, nor any others at this point.
You recruited a friend. Hardly a “task”.
And I recruited my wife and got the black flying cat thing but I found more prestige (such as it was) in showing off the twilight drake from 25 man Sartharion that I not only helped myself get but I helped at least ten other people get.
I’ll happily show this one off though.
Got the rocket in MoP in the early days of the BMAH, bought it for 20k back then.

as someone who has the X-53 from RAF the only thing it proves is that you spent money on yourself for the mount (as I did)
I hope everyone enjoys their trader X-53, though argueably there’s cooler 2-seater mounts out there its nice that people get a chance to add this to their collection again and what better way then the travellers post.
I’m happy you didn’t have to spend x amount of money of gametime to get it (it was really just a paypig mount)

This is not the first recruit a friend mount sold for trader’s tender. I am sorry you can no longer feel special when you mount it.
(tbh, most people will have zero clue about any of your items being special in any way - we are drowning in rewards, and there is no way to tell by the visual if items/mounts/pets and whatever are rare or hard to get unless you actively hunted that item yourself).

I got my pixels when they were originally available through the RAF system and I’m only happy that people who weren’t around when the promotion existed have an opportunity to acquire those pixels now.

I’ve had it for many years as well. But it was just gathering digital dust in my ever growing mount collection. I couldn’t care less that they added it. Would I have liked for them to give us a mount I didn’t already own? Of course. But it’s cool for people to get stuff they otherwise couldn’t get anymore. This game is for everyone, remember.
Yes… i cant understand the problem. Now we have hundreds of useless mounts rotting in the barn and we complain about “unique” mount in trading post?

Bought a few mounts off it really cheap while less people were at it in its early days.
