The X-53 Touring Rocket should NOT be on the trading post

Does anyone even care what mounts other players are on nowadays?

It’s like standing out sw bank with your purples on… feel like those days are long gone

bring spectral tigerss

I had it too, that’s the entire point, they are letting people have fomo content because gatekeeping other people’s enjoyment isn’t fun.

I have a spectral tiger, they can release that too if they want, life’s too short.

The current raf mounts are obtained by having another account and using that gold to buy the necessary gametime. What makes it better?
I hope that the other raf mounts and tcg mounts will be included in the rotation one day.
I don’t feel bigger if I sit on a mount that no one else has

Yep, this. Few exceptions when I inspect players in a raid/dung because I like their transmog or when I see a mount I don’t immediately recongnise.

That said I like to flex with my Mage Tower book or the Infinite Timereaver from time to time.

I wonder how many people who have this and other RaF actually recuited a friend. As in, brought a real living and breathing person to play the game with them, as opposed to just buying a another account and recruiting that.

In practice, the rockets et a. was just a store mount with a more complicated, borderline pain the butt way of buying it. Hardly anything prestigeous, though.

I’ve R-a-Fed 3 people, Scroll of Resurrectioned 1. Getting people to play WoW with the social stigma it has really is an achievement, so I really feel I earned my mounts. Just almost handing it out and people justifying it with “well almost no one got it properly anyway” does feel somewhat bad. A recolour or different paintjob would have been better. But as I said earlier, promotional mounts on the trading post were already a thing, so this is no worse than any other they’ve done.

RaF rewards are not achievements.

you literally pay with your wallet.

  • and thats coming from me, and i have most of them including the Hopper glider and working towards the new mech one

You only speak for yourself. I got the x-53 for referring a friend.

Opening a second account to refer it / yourself  (I know people do it, I personally think its hilarious) -

i personally think its hilarious inviting a friend to WoW,
why would i hurt my friend like that

" i know a game that will ruin your life… ever heard of World of Warcraft ? "

Could we just be honest and say the barrier to entry for RAF for most people was the “F”?

It’s a bit more honest than saying “wow ruins ppls lives” - people do that themselves, if it wasn’t wow it would be drugz n nightclubs or something.

Anyhow…

As someone who has bought a few mounts from the trading post, I still absolutely agree they should have been left as they were. Bit of a kick in the teeth to people who actually did the hard yards for their mounts.

if we were being honest, the only barrier to entry for RaF is the Sub Fee + box fee + time investment
most people look at the game and like i just paid £100+ for all the expacs and now i gotta pay EVERY month to play?
NO THANKS.

It should be :stuck_out_tongue: Dunno what “Celebration” means but I got it for 10-30ish. I got this 15-20 ish years ago in a private server for being a good subscriber. I missed this rocket so much for so long. Now I got it in WoW ratail.

I got it by pulling out my wallet. I have no issue with it being given as a celebration reward. If someone has an issue with it, the issue lies with them, not with the decision to let more people get this mount.

You should get a mount because you think it looks cool and you want to use it. Not because ‘others don’t have it’. That’s such an inane petty reason.

The ONLY value this item has, is that “you needed to play WoW in MoP”… You didn’t earn it through ANY hard work. :joy:

The ONLY mounts that shouldn’t appear in the trading post, are mounts that are obtained through playing the game. :point_left:

Mounts/tmog/pets like “recruit a friend rewards”, trading card rewards, removed “non reward items”, are ALL okay in my opinion. :man_shrugging:

Some people act like WoW is their entire life, and act as if this objectively unimportant item somehow gave them status, when it wasn’t obtained through hard work in-game… Get a grib.

I hope they put the Spectral Tiger on the trading post someday, to teach people a lesson in not hyping up the importance of rewards that were obtained through IRL money. :+1: Same goes with all the other mount rewards, that were obtained PURELY through “just playing WoW during that time”.

REAL earnable in-game mounts though, should be a no-go on the trading post.

Ah ok, it’s not a mount I’ve ever had any interest in so wasn’t sure how it was obtained, if it’s a shop mount then no issues there.

Wotlk? Correct me if i’m wrong, but that thing was available from 2010 till 2022, since i got mine in 2019.

Idk about you, but a time span of 12 Years availability isn’t some crazy rare timeframe.

But others like the Water Striders that I spent many weeks fishing for in MOP was one that I believe could then be obtained later without having to do the fishing, those and things like that are the ones that should be left as they were as it’s just a slap in the face for all the time wasted to obtain it.

Humans don’t magically stop acting like humans regardless of it being in a video game or not. If everything was easily accessible, and readily available for everyone, what exactly would the point in playing the game be.

“You should play for fun”. Yes, and people’s fun comes from different aspects of the game. It’s like saying people raid for fun only. Take away all loot and see how many people actually raid for the fun aspect.

Some fomo is okay. If I could just wait for everything to just be readily available on the trading post, I could just unsub and wait for it to become “free”. Path of the least resistance ect ect.

Half of the reason I only sub is because of the unique coloured elite sets every season. That’s what keeps me motivated to log in and achieve that goal in that specific season.
