Rare, not unobtainable. As mentioned if someone quit the game with the only mount in the entire server… what’s the point?
that’s why there should only be a handful of such items.
So what if you never see a Black Qiraji Scarab. I’ve never seen one and I’ve been playing since 2005 with only a couple of shortish breaks (Cata and WoD).
I was online when the AQ opening happened, I was in Feralas and all these egyptian type giants starting swarming the lands. I had no idea what was happening. My mate explained it to me (he probably googled it or something).
I will be a bit cross if the Lucid Nightmare mount is on trading post. An hour and a half of sweat and tears in the maze, plus the lead up mini games, plus I like it alot and use it alot
Isn’t that still available if you go do all that insane stuff? I never cba to do it.

The one I didn’t bother with was the group tentacle one ‘hivemind’ something… Thought it was horrible looking and besides, needing a group to do it put me off.
Only one I did was the Fathomdweller one. Only reason I managed to complete it was some kind person helped me in the sunken boat near the end of it. He must have seen me struggling to find my way so they guided me through.
That kind of put me off doing any more of these mystery hunts.
I generally love the secret ones. The maze really wasn’t that bad (and I did it without mapmaking or a mod).
There’s a recent hearthstone toy secret solved. So of course I had to go out and get it right away. 
wow yes. i almost gave up in the end. But randomly i reached the end. I think to have used that mount maybe 1 ore 2 times.
I don’t think the AotC or Gladiator mounts should not be obtainable.
You could put them on the TP or a Vendor and let everybody, who is eligible to get the current mount, buy the one they like most or even all of them if they want to.
They have shown that they have the skill that would have let them get the mount if they were online at that time.
Noone would take your joy and fun you had at that time away from you but those who couldn’t participate for different reasons would have a chance to get the mount they like to have.
Maybe you could put the mounts on the vendor the expansion after it was released
Having something unique is becomeing more rare. Quite sad in a way.
But as it was sold so cheap made me chuckle as it was a 2nd slap in the face for those who had the mount before.

Got it with RAF… 7 years ago or so.
I’m fine with it being on the trade post. That rocket is awesome and I’m glad more people can get it. Saves me a few coins for other things when they put stuff up on the trade post that I already have (like that Olympic pet).
