Any mount hidden behind recruit a friend or a 6 month subscription should come to the trading post. And the trading card game mounts as well since blizz already handed some out for free to chinese players in the past.
Because its obnoxious to have the best looking mounts hidden behind such a paywall with no way to get it normally despite us already paying tons just to play the game
And with recruit a friend mount, how many people actually recruit a friend wich hasnt been playing yet for this? Every single person i ever met wich had a mount from recruit friend bought a new account just so they could get the recruit a friend stuff.
I have done the same many years ago for the zebra mount

I donât see anything wrong with this, even if it came from raid achievements, and the reason is the mount is from WOTLK. People who got it when it was new have had up to Fifteen Years to enjoy it now. How long is enough time before others might enjoy it too.

Meanwhile I did not even knew you could just recruit yourself until the new system with the explorer 12 month set. I really thought you need a friend for it so I frantically searched for people that did not have played WoW so far and could I get interessted in it which is actually an own achievement itself because it is WoW. I mean as the most played MMORPG for its time it is actually a big task find a person who if they would be interessted did not played it so far.
In the end I did just recruited my little brother 12 years later for the desert explorer pack as he by then is finally old enough for it.
Yeah back then it whas one of the first mounts for caring someone with you in the air so everyone wanted it to carry there friends who could not fly so far arround. I also wanted one which I later got thanks to the Onyx wing but sadly the friendship did not lasted that long as I grew up.

Fomo is good, seeing people using unobtainable unique items ingame is cool.
I wish i had the MoP and WoD challenge mode items but i dont, and thats ok.
Seeing someone riding on a feldrake a year ago was unique and it stood out in a crowd, now the entire playerbase got it as a participation trophy and its useless.

This is all well and good for a (very) few prestigious items, the Black Scarab from Ahn Qiraj opening for example. A handful of really ooh-factor objects in the whole game.
A RAF mount from a few years ago is not such an item. Neither would I put some challenge mode transmogs in that category but thatâs just me.
Now log into the game and take a screenshot every 6 seconds to prove how accurate this statement is by showing everyone mounted on a feldrake.

I got it from the trading post and wasnât around for the original grind.
Itâs funny how the mounts in the shop are much higher quality and I want them more 
But thatâs not whatâs going on.
Thereâs plenty of stuff you need to do certain content/achievements for to earn.
And even things that are now returning through one way or another, are almost exclusively available to get for a limited time. Yes, they may and probably will return again some time in the future, but that still means you have to be there at the right time.

I used to show off my Tyraelâs Charger. Now I have to fall back on Heart of the Aspects. (At least the damn thing doesnât give me motion sickness every time I use it any more.)

A mount does hardly affect anyoneâs gameplay in any way, I donât see the point in this thread. All Iâm reading is someone crying because they think they are important because they have a cosmetic mount. Such elitism does not belong in a game.

In my whole life time I have seen one Black Scarab. Either the most users do not play anymore or do not scare anymore. The only other person I know that it still has is the designer from Destiny 2 who even needed to explain his signature as most people seem not to recocnize it.
Exactly⌠seems like that kind of content that needs to be brought back to me. Whatâs the sense of keeping mounts in accounts nobody uses anymore?
Nowadays you say you have a Vanilla title or a mount and most of the people donât even care tbh, donât even know what it means.
Itâs a 20 years stuff that is useless.
How many times in M+ you actually stop to check everybodyâs titles?
If it can be earned yes, but if its an item hidden behind a paywall then it absolutely shouldnt be in a game as fomo. Same with fomo stuff hidden behind high gold prices wich promotes whales to spent real life money to buy gold for it
There is a difference between âeasily accessibleâ and âavailable for everyoneâ. I believe everything should be available to everyone, but not effortlessly. So itâs not about getting everything handed to you, but about stuff being earnable without time restrictions at all.
I disagree that âsome FOMO is okayâ. I think it is always ugly and leads to unhealthy behaviors and feelings. A lot of toxicity is rooted in the many faces of FOMO. If you enjoy FOMO, real life offers an infinite number of opportunities to feel that way.
Promotional mounts are fair game in my opinion. They are earned by doing something outside of the game, and I have a few I donât mind sharing (like the original zhevra mount). There is nothing on them that claims they would only ever be rewarded from one source.
Prestigious mounts like AotC/gladiator etc is a different story, but thatâs been done to death.
I hope they bring back the hippogryph one because the only other three you can get in game are either ugly, nigh impossible or grindy af.
That was just one example. But prestigious items should be rare, very very rare. A handful in the entire game. One item in 3 expansions maybe.
And RAF mounts certainly wouldnât fit that category.
