I, like many others, enjoy collecting mounts. But there is one in particular in this expansion that too many people are reporting stupidly high attempts, the Impressionable Gorger Spawn from Worldedge Gorger in Revendreth.
I’m in many different mount collecting communities and there are only two types of people, those that got the drop in around 100 or less, or are reaching the 500s if not 1000s mark. Reports on the Wowhead comments are similar, alot of people with really high attempts.
Has anyone else had the same experience with this? Me and others are concerned that it is bugged for a select few. Would be nice if this was recognised as I have seen no drops reported for those above 200 attempts.
It just has low drop rate. I see people riding them occasionally, so it’s obviously not bugged.
Not gonna lie, i got it on my very first kill.

I know its not bugged for everyone. As I stated in the original post, I am concerned that it is bugged for some and it would never drop for them. RNG is RNG, but there are many people in mount communities that believe its bugged for some.
I had around 300 Kills on that thing, farmed it with 3 chars. Then i did a short q line in revendreth that is not part of the Campagne. It is in the area where a lot of gorgeresque mobs run around. Had it 2 days later on the Char that i did the quest on.
Same thing for a buddy of mine.

I got it first attempt.
I don’t think i ever got anything first attempt. That was it.
Got it after 2 months of nearly daily farm. So roughly 60 kills I think. Got it eventually. Idk if it’s bugged or it’s just super low drop rate… but the mount exists. 
Same here, didn’t even know what it was for, it was up as I was near, killed the mob, then had to do some quests for a week, then the mount appeared.
Got this and the Abyss Wyrm mount in ToS on my first attempts way back when. 
It was a weird surprise. Because that was the second~third day of expansion for me, right as i got to 60. So i was fresh out out of leveling. Saw a rare spawn. Killed it and got an item that disappeared from my inventory, but looked like a mount icon. Surprised, i went to check on wowhead, and turns out it was a mount.
These little things are always interesting in the game. To discover something fresh. But unfortunately, Things are either too complicated or too necessary to be known beforehand.
He didn’t give me too much trouble, Famu is a completely different story. Had to start mass farming it to get it.
Sabriel and Tahonta still haven’t dropped their mounts for me. It’s not like I like being in Maldraxxus either 
Are you using Neena construct for Tahonta farming? Pretty sure it wont drop otherwise
These things should have their % drop publicly and their % drop to not be so obscenely low.
I get the idea of things with a rare drop, but there’s limits and people running the same raid 200 times or killing the same rare mob for more than five months is not okay.
yup. I can sort of understand the drop chance being low, but when theres people with 1000+ attempts on a speculated 1% drop chance, its a bit ridiculous.
Well yes, other wise I wouldn’t be able to farm it 
What’s the difference between that and the Spiderbot in Mechagon? That has a lower chance to drop the mount than the more usual 1%.
Had the excact same problem: Managing at least a dozen kills per day with what I thought would be eligible characters, amassing close to 500 kills. Couldn’t bear to bring myself to 1k kills as some did (kudos to those guys), since it just felt straight out bugged, observing every 20-30 ppl loot the item, yet never being “lucky” enough myself.
Read about the speculation of the quest “The Endmire” to be a prerequisite, finished it with every character before killing the rare… and on the 6th kill it dropped the Gorger Spawn for me. Now that is what I like calling a coincidence!
Now, that could not be further from a meaningful sample size, but I’d like to hear from more people with so many attempts how their farm went after completing the quest

I had the same Problem with this item:
It is a necrolord only dropp. So i farmed the Mob every day for 3 months straight with a necrolord alt and nothing. I decide to finish the to me quite Uninteresting Campagne and 2 days later I have the item.
If items and mounts with a random drop Chance are locked behind quests, it should be announced by blizz…
