If broader things like scale don’t matter, I could draw parallels between Arthas and virtually every undead that at any time had the ambition to push his goals beyond survival alone.

But given you want a specific case, as current writing goes, the ones Sylvanas raises have free will as long as she wishes and it coincides with her wishes, as seen with derek or the desolate council. Sylvanas took a dump on this principle, as commented on by for example Lilian Voss.

And I still think that Arthas world domination greatly trumps Sylvanas more specific goal about destroying only Horde enemies. Stated goals considered, and leaving aside speculation and theories. She wants to kill and raise every citizen of Stormwind, she killed tens of thousands of Nightelves, she destroyed Southshore without provocation, she did an ethnic cleansing in her domain. And the Alliance would not be an enemy of the Horde without her attack on Teldrassil.

Given this mindset, Tauren and Pandaren are a problem for the Horde story too. And Blood elves.

Nope, they have a general sense of morality and at least in part the same outlook on life.
Orcs, Tauren and Trolls have differences, yes, but they have many things that are close enough to eachother. Similar culture, similar spiritual believes etc.
The Bloodelves are different, they joined the Horde because they needed allies.
And for Pandaren i agree, they have no reason to join this conflict on either side, But they and bloodelves still have ethics and rules when it comes to warfare (no killing civilians etc.) that make them at least compatible.

Forsaken are amoral, they don’t see themselves as evil, they just don’t care about things like that.
Killing civilians? no problem. Blighting the land? no problem. Raising the dead and sending them against their living kin? no problem. Stitching together corpses and make flesh abominations? no problem.
Each one of this points is an atrocity to every single other playable race in WoW. And every point is just normal for forsaken. Thats why i think they are incompatible when it comes to storytelling.

That means that, in the two big expansion where faction identity was put front and center, the Horde was evil, and there will never be a chance to rectify that ever again.

Killing civilians? no problem. Blighting the land? no problem. Raising the dead and sending them against their living kin? no problem. Stitching together corpses and make flesh abominations? no problem.
Each one of this points is an atrocity to every single other playable race in WoW.

There are examples for almost every case mentioned where certain races agreed, or didn’t mind having the Forsaken doing such.
Silverpine has the seal of approval of the orc that is currently defending the faction from enemy assaults.
Lor’themar had zero qualms about the Forsaken using Alliance dead in SoO.
Brennadam had trolls and orcs in it.

And goblins share most of those traits.
