There is a weak aura to detect one button rotation use

People been using a OBR since MoP that does a lot more damage then the blizz one by atleast 1.5 to 2 mil dps depending spec/gear /class and nobody even noticed yet here we are vile people trying to gatekeep others.

Thanks a lot for warning the people about these evil streamers and about the existence of this weak aura. You got a link to it? Just to be sure I avoid it. I’ll make sure to show it to other people as well so that they can avoid it too

I was being sarcastic. I don’t care about it but the Streisand effect that these kind of threads can have is funny.

I imagine the fear is that they will be harassed or kicked from some content based on the discovery of using it, but I recognize the message you are trying say and I agree. In general it’s whatever what other people think how were playing our purchased games aslong were not breaking any rules it’s nobodys business how we play the video game we have purchased. It’s the equivalent of me not going to go tell my neighbours how they should enjoy their coffee for example, with milk or without milk, it’s not my business nor should I try tell them how to drink their coffee :coffee:

Personally I will not use one button or see use for it in PvP but I’m a fan of letting people do whatever they want to do aslong it dont affect me and become concern to me. One button addition will never affect my own gameplay if others use it or not so people should be allowed to use it however they wish. On a positive it might even improve some of my gameplay with random people if people find help from it. They wont gain advantage from it over me in any regards due its design so them becoming better with “less effort” from it does not matter. This is basically the logic anyways what comes to one button assist. I’m tired of the topic but not saying common sense.

I use DBM and it’s a massive help. I wouldn’t use it in a single player game though.

If I’m not paying attention and miss putting up a defensive and die that ruins it for everyone. It’s almost impossible to do that with DBM installed. I have done it though.

I wouldnt try m+ or raid in retail without bigwigs/dbm either, it’s over decades ago when one could had played pve without addons somewhere in vanil when mechanics were just turn boss from raid and tank and spank type stuff. Funnily theres even some timers requiring mechanics even in bwl in vanil. Addons are as old as wow.

Some of the stuff Blizz has recently done is pretty good. The more dangerous casts having longer cast times makes it easier to identify which cast to interrupt when multiple casts are going off.

I think we’ve all used DBM or BigWigs, as well as Recount and Omen Threat Meter, at some point — usually out of conformity or expectation from others, like guild members. I don’t raid much these days, so I don’t need to worry about pleasing other people. But on the rare occasions that I do, it can actually be quite fun without addons — relying on boss emotes to know something’s happening rather than hearing a “dong” or “du-du-du!” alert from DBM.

However, there’s a big difference between having two or three addons you set and forget, and something like WeakAuras, which people seem to endlessly tweak. I remember back in BFA, a guild member logged in to raid after a patch update and felt absolutely crippled because his addons were broken. Ultimately, he bowed out of the raid early and spent at least an hour that night fixing and tweaking his setup.

To be honest, I’m really looking forward to the next expansion, as I believe Blizzard have indicated that combat addons will be banned from Midnight onwards… so this new WeakAura should be short-lived. One last hurrah.

I am looking forward to Midnight too.

I am a key fiend so I’m hoping people not needing a bunch of external stuff installed makes the game accessible to everyone and makes people more inclined to get in the keys.

Yeah, yet. they can do it well. For example with evoker

Blizzard will do absolutely nothing

Didn’t Blizzard remove the /spit emote after streamers encouraged people to /spit on players riding store mounts or wearing store-bought outfits?

it is another form of gatekeeping. Same thing as during wrath: “LFM VOA 25 -GS 5.5 link archivement”

You’re referring to the infamous Asmonbald incident, i believe. Its true they removed the /spit emote after that, but i doubt they will crack down on this stuff

If I was a betting man, I would put my money on the changes that will start killing gameplay mods to be expedited if people escalate going after SBA instead of the actual numbers the player pulled off.

SBA was introduced to try to keep some of the players who would just give up on doing those bloated rotations and end their subscriptions. Blizzard again has a financial incentive to keep these payers around

Once again addon creators stepping in where Blizzard failed.

My bad, i never looked at it that way- I guess the OBR users could join chilled communities, the dungeon one I’m in actually welcomes them and helps them to improve

It is definitely a good idea to always point people who want to have a good time instead of a job simulator towards these communities
