Why don’t you just play Alliance if it’s so much better?
I approve this post.
LET’S BURN DOWN STORMWIND!
And let’s steal their epic OST, Org sucks.
Do you not get bored of repeating the same thing over and over for the last 5+ years there is no faction bias stop looking for what is not there.
What Alliance players are saying that though? I’ve never thought there was Horde bias.
The closest I can think of is all the traitors who joined Horde then came back covered in traitor’s wounds when cross faction grouping was introduced. I stayed Alliance and I didn’t complain lots were abandoning us.
Because I want equality.
Keep fighting
It’s a game. Why would that be important? Part of the Horde’s appeal is that they’re an underdog and struggling through harsh conditions. A bit like The Rebellion in Star Wars is not equal to The Empire, or in Blizzard’s own universe StarCraft where the Protoss are far more technologically advanced than the Terran.
That’s just the setting of the fictional story, and in no way is the underdog less appealing because it’s an underdog. Even in World of Warcraft the appeal of the Horde has always been that it’s been an underdog to The Alliance (creating a certain irony when The Horde ended up being a lot more popular amongst players).
Wanting equality is kind of a push seeking to undermine the core foundation of the fictional universe as Blizzard intended it from day one. And I don’t think that’s desirable or beneficial to Warcraft as a whole. What you’re effectively asking for is blandness, and one could argue that World of Warcraft has plenty of that already (because of an effort to please people such as you).
Because we have two factions. And it is kinda unfair that the Horde got essentially nothing from Blizzard the past 8 years.
First of all, it’s not unfair, because it has never been established that it’s tit for tat in the first place. And secondly, to say that the Horde has essentially gotten nothing from Blizzard the past 8 years is a childish way to present a complaint that shows little merit in the first place, vis á vis the foundation of the core fiction that I just mentioned.
Every other MMO does it that way. Warhammer AoR, ESO, SWTOR, Aion, FF14 and so on.
Then go play any of them if you prefer their way of handling these matters.
No this is my favorite game and I want it to be better, starting with giving the Horde enough goodies so they can be equal to the alliance.
That’s asking to get control over the creative development of the fictional story and worldbuilding, and that’s not something you should be demanding to any degree what so ever. That is entirely for Metzen to decide. And if he wants to write The Horde in such a manner that they’re the underdog that’s struggling and suffering and feeling neglected and marginalized, then that’s his prerogative. You and I and everyone else don’t get to tell the author what words they should write. That’s not how this works.
Of course you do. As long as the alliance gets all the attention from Blizzard all is good right? Typical alliance behavior.
You and I and everyone else get to criticize the story and the worldbuilding for being crap - and I will certainly join the chorus on that.
But what we don’t get to do, is to dictate what the story and what the worldbuilding should be like. That’s seizing creative control from the writers, which is a big no no.
I and everyone else ultimately wants to play World of Warcraft as Metzen and co. are envisioning it. No one here wants the game’s story and worldbuilding to be the byproduct of wishes by some random guy on the internet. That’s not what we’re paying for.
That is not random stuff I want. The Horde had been neglected since Legion and I am tried of bending over all the time because so far all story in TWW is alliance centered AGAIN. One Goblin patch will not change that. The alliance gets to be a cool super power while the Horde is a passive bystander. That is bad and needs to change.
In that broad and general way you’re presenting your criticism, it’s a load of crap. Sorry, but it is. It’s one thing to say that, for example, the story in The War Within is entirely focused on the Alliance and that’s bad, versus saying that Horde is being unfairly treated in general because Blizzard have done x, y, z for the Alliance and therefore the Horde needs to receive some tender, love, and care in return.
If you did the former kind of specific criticism on specific story and worldbuilding - fine, but this kind of general nonsensical crying? No. With that you’re asking for authority over the story and worldbuilding to be catered to your whims, and what claim do you have to that over Metzen? None. It’s not your story to tell and it’s not your world to build. And you should respect that.
You get to say that the story in The War Within is dog crap and that Undermined looks lackluster and that it’s all a boring Alliance narrative that completely misses out on the cool Alliance and Horde presence we used to have in WoW.
That you get to say.
You don’t get to say that Metzen should write the story for Horde in this way and that, and that the Horde should receive x, y, and z because it’s their turn to be powerful and great and whatever.
That you don’t get to say, because that creative authority resides with Metzen alone.
Oh look, its the broken record.
I think we are reaching the point where we can actually just report you for spam and its not a false flag.
I pay money for this game and if the product is bad I have the right to complain about it. The alliance is the favored faction anyone with two functional eyes can see that.
