I could screenshot the interactions of the LookingForGroup channel to demonstrate the monotony that goes on there. I think most of us can see it every day. It is not a great social interaction with others. It’s purely people forming groups. Some people are spamming over and over and over and over as they struggle to find others to do that content with them.
I am not sure why you had to make it personal.

Sounds more like faction / server issue, i see lfg / world channels full of banter among the group looking, and when you finally get your group, people at least say hello, often times even start small conversations. …Also when i did make it personal? “you” didn’t mean YOU, but any person who answers to lfg post.
Can’t literally wrap my head around how people can claim that this way is less interactive than faceless automation lfg tool.
We are on the same realm if you are in the same guild on Classic.
I am not, i play on razorgore and zandalari tribe realms.
Also briefly shazzrah, but got tired of queues.
Zandalari Tribe is RP I’d expect them to be more colourful with their group finding.
Haven’t notice really any difference between the two with group forming.
Only difference is that rp realm has global chat filled with meme spam, politics etc.
Also way more toxic people than regular pvp realm.
I’m on a Normal realm. Finding groups is very matter of fact. Apart from when someone wanted to reserve an item. That did start a furious debate until they were asked to take to World channel and let people find groups.
How else can you explain different experiences people are having? Only variance is server and faction. You(?), and some others might claim that classic is not more social, but i and others say we’d have way more interactions in couple weeks of classic than last few years of retail?
Its the same, one is automatic and the other is manual.
Dungeons feel the same, nobody is talking except you sheep this and you sap this and once the boss is killed group disbands and the next day the same players are there trying to ninja tap your kills.

I find it very hard to believe it is not the norm to ask along the lines of
‘LF1M SFK’
‘Need Tank for WC’
‘DPS LF ZF’
‘Healer LF RFD’
Etc etc etc.
Although I didn’t start in Vanilla it was the norm to spam factual LF info back in TBC too.
You are only focusing on one part of the group forming.
Then theres the answering, and the possible reaction from rest of the party.
Sometimes looking for group takes so long and becoming tedious, group really appreciates everyone who finally shows up, talks to them, don’t leave after one wipe since it takes more time and effort to form group and head to the instance, and not instantly getting teleported by push of a button.
Well for some people inv plz is great social experience too. I am not going to ask what their every day social interactions are or if they exist if ‘inv plz’ is something fantastic.

Most responses we get are very short and to the point, they aren’t giving us a life history nor do we expect one. It’s a dungeon, they aren’t hard. We invite the person who wants to come along as long as they are in the recommended bracket.
Some of those people who join us are chatty. Others are not. That has nothing to do with the way people form groups which was the point I made earlier.
Some groups are silent others are really good fun. People are all different. You can’t force someone to be social if they aren’t. They are just gonna do their thing and leave when it’s done. Others are gonna chat, and we have a laugh. Sometimes we even help them sort something outside the dungeon if they didn’t manage to complete whatever it was inside. Others are so grumpy, miserable and complain all the time that you don’t really want to do anything with them again.

It’s kinda wierd tho how some don’t ever see these chatty people in retail, but constantly on classic tho. Makes you wonder, what gives?
I’ve had some chatty groups in Retail as well, just like I’ve had some more or less silent groups in Classic.

Yeah i haven’t seen even very chatty guilds in retail for a long time.
It primes your attitude and head differently when you gotta type stuff out even if the activity itself doesn’t require you to write a novel everytime.
Faceless automation tool really enforces the solidarity in my opinion and that’s why i never see LFG tool on same level as just using chat to form groups.
Because it’s Classic WoW.
Welcome, enjoy your stay.
Most guilds use Discord in Retail as we do in Classic. They have always been lively places for me. Full of people wanting to do activities and talking to each other. The only difference is some of those activities you use a queuing tool for. Atlhough joining pugs is just applying to groups cutting out the need to spam. You list what you are looking for/activity you are going to do and people apply.
I don’t think that tool belongs in Classic. It needs to be like Vanilla was, otherwise what is the point. Old skool game needs to be played like it was.
I quess that is true, i rather not use it outside raids so maybe thats why classic style fits me so much better, and others who love it.
Glad you agree it don’t fit into classic, that’s possibly the best agreement we can come up with this, and the rest we just gotta have to agree to disagree.
