There will be a physical edition or not?

Don’t you think it would be be just enough unrespectful that after 16 years there won’t a box to add to the our collection? Can at least deign to answer? The game will be released in a week and we still don’t know if we will able to buy the physical copy… first of all you missed so many preorders, if you had made a comunication about the lack of a physical copy, thousands of players would have already pre ordered the digital version instead of waiting for nothing. Go on blizzard, continue to point all on new players, you will end to have anaffective customers that will go for a new mmorpg without thinking about it twice.
After this, in case I decide to buy SL I wouldn’t use the blizzard store of course, I’ll find a cheaper serial key on a online store, and I don’t care if you won’t see any of that money.

Similar to a couple of previous expansions, I believe that there is no physical version.

Edit: Turns out I was mistaken with previous expansions - apologies.

They always made a physical version, even for BfA

grey market purchasing is as bad as RMT…

I personally would like to see blizz disable those grey market keys. If an indie company can do that, why cant blizz?

Shadowlands is the most preordered expansion ever.

I know, but if they totally don’t care about who bought the game every 2 years for 16years, I don’t see why I should care about it

Say that when your account gets suspended

Pretty clear by now that there won’t be a physical edition of SL other than the collector’s one.

Which you can’t get since a couple of months ago. Unless you bent the knee to a scalper

It would be good if theres no physical version.

It’s just cutting down trees so someone can satisfy their OCD. The worlds moved on, time the “must have a box” people did too.

I gave up getting physical copies ever since they stopped putting a CD in the box and a DVD/Bluray of the previous expansion movies alongside the opening movie and making of videos.

That and those that buy everything just so they can sell it for 200-500% more than RRP.

Digital version will do me from now on, at least scalpers can’t get their grubby hands on those.

So, since the box is not eco-friendly they sell the CE that requires 10 times more material… it’s clary not a ecologic choice, but an economic one…they are leveraging longtime players (who are collecting the boxes since 2004) to make them buy a more expensive physical version of the game

Think of all the waste created by physical copies when everything is digital. They could maybe provide some artwork as a compromise that people could print and put in a display box for their shelf.

Think the last physical expansion i bought was WoD, and even that only had an activation key in the case as opposed to a physical disk. I do however have the full CE box versions of Cata and MoP, everything still in the shrink wrap apart from the actual game case.

I have all previous expansion boxes.

Base edition of WoD I bought back in the day had 4 dvds with whole game in new CASC system.

Hello. Personally I would lean towards the physical box, but at the same time I would like to create an allied race DK, before the expansion launch.

Problem is that Blizzard said nothing regarding this, so here I am, waiting the launch day and see if my retail stores have the box or not.

Like the OP said, they are losing many early adopters, mainly because we don’t know if the box will be out or not.

An official response would be welcomed, since the launch is a couple days off.

There’s no version for sale: that’s about as official as you get.

Well, with previous expansions, they said “we got this and this coming up and this will not”. For example, Starcraft Remastered - they said (I think before people asked) that the game will not feature a box. Why not say the same for Shadowlands? “Everyone, only CE will be available in stores. Small boxes are NOT. Good night.” - something like that. Would stop people asking these questions.

They gonna make a ton of CE boxes and slowly drip them into Ebay 10,12,24,46 years from now to maximize them gainz. Maybe show em to a streamer in the future, playing future versions of shadowlands classic. The possibilities are endless

Why should blizzard stop selling codes in a box for regular shadowlands? A ton of people are getting at cheaper due to store prices that may b e cheaper cause they havve a pre sale sale.

And people like me whom, I just happy with the box at least.
