Because WoW is heavily inspired in High Fantasy, such as Lord of the Rings, which was influenced by medieval European culture where Christianity was the ruling religion.

Could you not argue that the different races worshipping/serving/bending the light in their own way is a symbol of many religions practicing in their own ways but keeping the fundamental values?

The cathedral in Stormwind is very different to Draenei and blood elf buildings, for example.

I can already see it.

New class: Saladin
Main spells: Fatwa, Holy Kebab and Meditative Nargilé.

But in all seriousness, why not just a Hut?
We could all give hands and sing the Kum Ba Yah.

It’s the weekend… Bait is served.

salah l-din. or something like that (dont remember the exact name)

‘Salah al-Din’… Yusuf ibn Ayyub, first sultan of Egypt and Syria, founder of the Ayyubid dynasty.

Bruh WoW is a fantasy game, a church was used likely due to culture background of where the game studio is OR a church was used as inspiration for where a "holy place "Might be in a fantasy world.

Blood Elves, as well as some things in Uldum and such, have plenty of Islam/Arabic inspired aesthetics (buildings and clothing), even have a certain mannerism in the way they talk…

Cathedrals are a generic mainstay in Western fantasies when it comes to Religions, and Warcraft was no exception from its RTS roots in the 90s.

OP, you might be pretty ignorant of this but a lot of companies wouldn’t use Islam directly in a video game, no less a fantasy, out of ‘respect’ (potential backlash) of its representation.

So either you’re clueless, or are in all likelihood troll baiting.

I wanna roleplay as a muslim demon hunter.

I get what you mean.
But Catholics are Christians.
They’re a subcategory of Christians, and so are Evangelists, but both are Christian nonetheless.

The Cathedral in Stormwind has a main purpose, which is…Teach Priests MC, so they can Mind control others xD

On a side note, i’m not here to argue with anyone but putting the world “Cathedral” In google/Bing/wiki…give this answer.
“A cathedral is a church that contains the cathedra (Latin for ‘seat’) of a bishop, thus serving as the central church of a diocese, conference, or episcopate.”
[episcopate] mean A bishop is an [ordained] [consecrated] or appointed member of the [Christian clergy]
[Christian clergy] are formal leaders within established [religions]

Can’t we do both?

I do not approve of the vices of our messed up world being bought into a digital world,

But the OP has a point.

There is a Cathedral, a Catholic institution by name, inside possibly the most populated city in WoW.
There are many branches of Christianity, why did they choose Catholicism, which is arguably the most volatile?

Silvermoon has many towers that look like minarets. Oribos looks to me like it has arabian influenced architecture. I’m muslim myself and I haven’t cared for 15 years if the game will have any sort of islamic representation be it mosques or whatever. And I for sure won’t care in the future. It’s just a game.
