Think of the Critters

Feedback that will be ignored again like way more important things?

Well, yes I was inaccurate, it’s competable with enough suffering.
How much time it takes? A half day?

It took me longer than it should, but less than 10 minutes

Does the devs even read these forums? If so, WTH!? Most annoying, idealess and timewasting quest ever. Have you even tried it yourselfs!?

This is the big question. We keep seeing quests released in a non-functional state, and yes, sure, it’ll be fixed by the next time they come up… but why were they released like this to start with? Why did we have a day where gromits simply weren’t spawning in enough numbers?

Test the quests, Blizz. Test them.

how could this possibly have been tested properly? it’s an embarrassment

If they did they were clearly alone on a private GM tester server with zero players

or halfway through a cube crawl :slightly_smiling_face:

The quest is horrible, but you can reduce the suffering. Put the critter on focus right after you attract it. Then feed. It won’t escape while you are killing the birdie.

I am 100% sure that nobody at Blizzard try Quests before they bring them in the Game.
Korthia is already that time intense and this Quest is more then a fail…

Reduce anima and increase Reseach would be a nice move , better then bring some lost quests in the game!

Just the quest I’d expect from harrassing gang of drunks.

  • Other players can harass you by using quest item and feeding the same critter
  • if you’re a tank or mostly-aoe class, you’re screwed because you will ‘attract’ enemy spawns from everyone, not just yours… and the others won’t get in combat
  • they will complete filling the bar, you’re left to deal with trash mobs
  • there is no way to prevent the critter fleeing if you’re undergeared and can’t kill a mob before buff from quest item vanished
  • same when due to idiotic mob density, something else aggro’s on you
  • if you’re a tank, you are a sitting duck to harassers who dump half the zone on you and you can’t move because the effing critter has to be close

Truly the spirit of blizzard in a pill.

Can’t wait for class action suits that will follow. I’ll watch them squirm with popcorn. Go California!

Just typing here to sign the petition to either delete this quest or massively change it please. (i would have skipped it this week if it was not the only daily that gave codex rep… )

Do Blizzard developers even test their game?

Such a stupid quest!
After 40min (1/6) I just gave up, seems Blizz likes to torture the remaining players.

Skipped this quest after using the critters for som SW: Death practice. GG Bliz fail moar plx.

I was really surprised (and ecstatic) to see this quest was up again today because of everyone’s struggle yesterday.

But being that has managed to get by without many issues I wanted to relay my experience as well.
Adressing points from others:

  • Other people scaring them away
This one seems really iffy to me, sometimes when I’m doing one people run all over
step right onto them without any effect, so like most things about this quest it probably needs more tuning

  • Scavengers taking too much time and they lose interest
This one is tough, I would suggest however lowering the health of the scavengers. Today I had I think 4 of the 6 critters I did 3-4 spawns of scavengers in a row which is insane due to the (sometimes) strict time on the ‘lose interest’ mechanic.

  • Tagging critter
I haven’t personally experienced the critters being tagged and unable to interact with. One of the really annoying points can be though if you are two or more people doing the same critter, you might end up having to tank the other players’ scavengers that spawn, delaying your ability to feed the critter.

One crazy thing for me today though since I got to keep the quest item after completing it yesterday I put it in my bank because I think that is fun. But by doing that I didn’t get a quest item from the quest giver today, instead I had to go fetch it from my bank to do the quest at all.

With all that said, I can understand everyone’s ire, I personally don’t think it’s as horribly bugged as everyone seems to experience, but the luck of events definitely needs a look and tuning, too many scavengers, losing interest is too easy, health of scavengers too high.

But you’d think after 16 years or more of designing quests, they could get the basics right at least…

Whoever thinks this is “fun” gameplay needs to seriously reconsider their career choice. Imagine there was a team who could let them know this, maybe something called QA? I dunno, just spit balling here
