This game has lost its soul

Like I said before, then I don’t give a hoot about any poster on this forum, but I do care a little bit for the sad remains of Blizzard’s MVP program. So I defend that, because it is a program with a long history and legacy that should not be sullied by random idiots and jerks on the forum who struggle to tolerate other people’s opinions, who cannot formulate themselves well in writing and therefore resorts to weak ad hominem attacks, and who otherwise seek to debase the position of others because they cannot raise their own unjustified position beyond the muck they wallow in.

Let’s get back to the topic at hands guys. That’s a very important subject for the future of the game and the people still attached to its story and core.

If you want to know what happen to WoW watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQt9rs-NHyo.

This is exact same problem what happend to Blizzard but they never managed to get out of it like Riot currently did. If i could call out 1 thing what Blizzard completly screw its they have no target audience for WoW. It used be make great mmorpg for mmorpg players. Now its make WoW for everybody and it just doesnt work.

thank you I ll watch.

yes as I said

" To please everyone is to please anyone. "

You just can’t make this up    Oh my stomach

Where does WoW target “everybody not only MMORPG audience”?
Fast paced M+? Oh please. (Rated) PvP? I beg you…all together too few of people of WoW’s entire playerbase…
The gross of players are just that: MMORPG players. Collectors, alt-army-levelers, raiding is a core part of MMORPG, crafters, auction house players, sidequesters, old content re-livers.

Because what is the point of having friends in your guild if you cant play with them?

Gameplay >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> story. Emphasis on the “much more”.

The question you should pose yourself is who buys that stuff? Thats right. Players.

And players have always bought gold. The difference is that in the past you payed money to some shady Chinese farmer webpage. Today you give it to a reputable company that will not steal your credit card data and buy TVs with it.

Big W if you ask me. Atleast now I dont hear from anyone that had his account hacked.

There is no “Lack”. There is quite a lot. Let me put it this way:

If there are 100M bots. And blizzard gets rid of 99% of them. There are still 1M bots left. Cause some will inevitably get away. And you have the impression that there are “a lot”.

If there really was a lack of bot policing there would literally be a bot in every single spawn point in the game. Including Durotar killing boars and farming the 1 copper they drop.

When was this not the case? It has always had this “cartoony” look.

You dont need to justify everything. Yes, it can be a “tournament” if you will. Why not?

What fear? Dont confuse laziness and entitlement for “fear”. Fear is an excuse people use to demand more from others while giving nothing in return. Modern day “ninja looting”.

The game has not lost its soul. It has a soul right now.

But either the game changed and you did not adapt. Or the game stayed the same and you moved on. 20 years playing the same game is a long time.

Just dont forget that your relationship with WoW includes you. You cant look at the game in isolation. You are not 15 anymore.

just now someone got 3 items from a mythical raid boss.
I saw 5 bosses in a row getting 2 items each.
rng chance mvp …
fix this game, stop the favoritism…

It has soul, just not typical MMORPG soul. It has something much more modern than almost any MMORPG on the market, or even for the next 10 years. GW2 has this kind of modern quality, other MMOs not at all. It also builds on old systems reworked into new ones, to make it look more modern, and that’s where vibe of the game comes, because you can feel age of the game and advanced systems at the same time. It is hard to explain, but it has some quality in it, as well as vibe.

It just has different vibe than almost any other MMO except GW2 when it comes to open world design. It is made for collectors and those that want to complete achievements and do this kind of casual stuff. There is lots of modern convenience as well. Everything is made to be faster and hyper, as well as to made it look convenient and casual.

Competitive gameplay is on other level, it is modern and responsive. It has depth and some kind of thoughtful quality, but lacks simplicity and skill-based system (at least when it comes to PvP), with skill system I think of GW2 pvp combat, where if you don’t properly dodge in seconds, you can die quickly and hardly can recover, but in WoW it’s much more about how you do deff CDs and if you fail at something, then 1min later you can feel the mistake and die or lose momentum. It often feels like RPG turn based system and can be perceived that it is slow at times, even though we are all clicking buttons very fast.

Even though I understand why they took this direction, I don’t like it at all. I wish we had systems that are simple, like vanilla open world grinding, as well as some hidden depth like vanilla crafting with 40-50 various materials to collect.

For competitive gameplay I just don’t like the flow of the game at the moment. I much more prefer GW2 direction with timed dodges and fast paced combat, where in WoW it’s like old fashioned turn based with trading CDs and smashing rotation, that is very simple, yet made with procs to look fast, but it really isn’t and is just leading for players to hype and rush content all the time (there are exceptions, but these players don’t really strive to play better or try to play the game to win).

well, sry to break your illusion but blizzard wip &nerf f speccs since…well 2004 because balacne, and even back tehre some were meta or op.
Blizzard bought them “classic” trelione back ebcause mimimi, were fored to pick just 3…only have still peole pick meta talents, which no real choice.

sights faction war was never a core them of wow…didt it amtter in classic, bc, wotlk…no

and it was innovativ and poele liekd it that much that blizzard even change it taht it wanst limited to the dragon isle because it were more immersive flying and way more fun, peole wanted it.

not rely, even in dragonfliht you had to unlock flighpoint manuly, and as new palye, have fun unlock evry flight point in the easten kindom and kalimdo…and nothend.

but typical mimimi flying bad

the china farmer running on teh sever muliple bosts, hunderts and even of those multiple varation with custom software so the sytem detect one bot variation and filtert it out while the reaming 11 version can still continue, tehy have enugh backups and progamr another vation imeelty to fill the r ranks for the next purge.

the problem int taht thos bot exist- the problem is the demand fot it, that people buy gold, its a palyer made problem because supply and demand - how the market works

I keep getting asked “where does that drop??!!” from people waiting on a world boss when I’m mounted on the Brimstone mount.

As if you don’t know that MVPs are not staff. Staff post in blue and certainly aren’t going around posting their personal opinions on the forums. This isn’t new to you.

I criticise things I don’t like and I always post my own opinion.

People really need to stop posting such rubbish when there is a difference of opinion.

You are correct and that is the reason why I will stop paying the subscription. If the conflict between H and A will be back, with different lore for each alliance and a good story like we had in the past I will start playing the game again. If not, bye, bye World of Peacecraft.

It is a safe, HR-approved version of fantasy, where:

there is no violence – only “conflicts to work through,”
there is no racial hatred between fantasy races – only “cultural misunderstandings,”
there is no war – only “adventures with a message of peace.”

Go back to your cave classic Andy If you have no idea because we have orhsf all the things but the stiry developed, the world moves on.

We had multiple times discussed gere why the faction war is unlikely to return because its a dead end- And I really don’t feel like explaining it in detail again right now.

We have stil hatred between some hartred like humans and orcs ir humans and undead.
And even if a lot has been softened now, it doesn’t mean that the old hatred has completely disappeared.

The peoples are already working together, no matter how much some purists don’t want to admit it.
And violence, well warcraft had it moments, its not so gory because its rated pegi 12, but com’on all the quest where we collect heads or other “bodyparts” torture and kill some enemies in gruesome ways.

I’m not going to watch 30mins, give me the meaning of the video in 100 words max.

Vanilla had quests and stories that led to nowhere (because the game was released in beta form). Only in TBC did we actually have interesting stories that actually lead to somewhere and got concluded.

Somehow rose-tinted glasses of people who only played on private servers years later or where too young to experience the game as it where and/or fantasized about something that was never there which tends to often be the vocal minority did this become a reality.

Cata came out when MOBAs where just getting a foothold as where MP shooters like CoD and BF yet somehow this goes unnoticed even today. Same goes for SC2, Diablo 3, PoE, Warframe, and a bunch of Korean grinders which all came out around 2010-2013 which somehow also goes unnoticed.

2015 onward also introduced hero shooters like Overwatch and the MOBA HotS which later led to Battle Royals.

It’s not that the game changed but that people change. You also got a huge bump with the tumblr generation(s) getting introduced to the game which are the same people playing something like FFXIV today as well.

??? is this why they said in TWW that they want more solo content ? is that why we got delves?? or Blitz / Solo shuffle? is that why the game became more accesable to solo players who don’t want to look for group all the time?
Dont contredict yourself.
