Well now I have learned that I have been sent to some celestial battleground and the crossroads of souls was nuked by an angry red souls and now white soul-swirly goes down to Hell? Did not expect this from WoW.
…It’s complicated… I guess you have to have been there. But the party was wild I assure you!
This is true my brother is example of this
he quit shadowlands at the begining when he found out what he needs to do just to be able play pvp
So he rather plays cataclysm pvp on private server
because there you needs to just buy pvp gear and que for BGs insta no need to do questing or anything
or
today for example i met new player when i was looking for DoS dungeon
there was shaman in group who said that he just wasted 60 bucks on this game and it’s not good because they force him to do questing on another character when he already did the covenant quests on 1
You are lying, you ain’t new. Bait post.
I’m not sure if you are a new player as they generally don’t come to complain on the forums about understanding new lore.
But I’ll take the bait and give my 2 cents.
This game needs a soft reset. All this Chromie time, alternate realities and confusing stories need to be simplified.
Most of the WoW lore should be brought to present times anyway. I’m aware that most game content is there for completionists but it’s time for a fresh start. The fact is Undercity is gone and we defeated the Burning Legion. We should keep it that way.
Before you bring your pitchforks, remember that this game needs fresh players to stay alive. Everything is confusing now even for returning players.
It’s an old, massive game that needs a reset badly.
You started 3 days ago and already have that many mounts and from different factions?
You have achievements from february…please stop lying
true, wow has become to big for its own good, lore wise that is, new players have no chance to know what is going on, combine this with old world beeing for low levels mostly, and the items you get there is usless, not even new players is gona do it just for the lore, unless super lore fan.
Wow eighter needs to literaly rewamp everything at this point to make everythign in game relevant, what is never gona happen, best way would be to as you say, reset hole thing now, aka make a wow 2, and start over.
other way would be to make hole world scale to max level what most likely never happens, becuse it would make serious balance issues then.
problem is, that if you start new, you will not even se 10% of the game now, if you follow the quests you get, and you will never clear a zone unless you stick it out, for almost no gain.
The game is pushing you in the direction in terms of where you need to be, old content isn’t where you should be spending your time.
Anything that is confusing to new players is irrelevant (old content).
The sequel is a stand-alone “movie” (Shadowlands), you don’t need to have seen the previous one to understand the sequel.
To be fair I have achievements from December but I only really started playing properly about 3 weeks ago.
a compleet revamp imo is not needed.
i think for a compleet new player they just need to stop sending them to the capital ogrimmar or stormwind, make a ah and bank in the relevant city’s so they cannot go offtrack.
Ones they hit 50 at bfa then they should get the quest to go for sl with the warning this is optional but can compleet bfa expansion without gaining exp or power and close the xp bar untill they go to sl that is.
As i see it , chromie time should work the opposite as it do now.
I never used it before but as i understand it now it works for dungeons only that is scaled to lvl 60 is it not?
What if they did the other way and scale you back to the lvl from the expansion (ex lvl 30 for classic meaning vannilla tbc and wrath) this way you can lvl treu them at a decent lvl and if you go with a group of friends/guildies you can do even the dungeons /raids together. With this option i know you gain nothing maybe but still could be fun to do.
Once you get Kekmorg to level 50 you will be able to create other characters that can use Chromie time to play through specific expansions, if. e.g. you wanted to do the Loremaster meta-achievement or just wanted to do the content of old expansions.
On Kekmorg you can do all the older dungeons using Timewalking when it comes around for that expansion.
It’s confusing for new players because you have 15+ years of expansions and new zones, quests and so on that were each meant to occupy people for a couple of years. So trying to get your head around how all of the old content fits together, the different systems and currencies used in those expansions, etc is a time-consuming task.
IMO your best bet is to find a friendly guild with people that can answer your questions. I’ve been playing (not continuously) since 2011 and I still have to look things up on wowhead or check the forums or ask in guild, so it would be remarkable if you didn’t feel a bit lost IMO.
You can always ask questions in the subforum Guides which is aimed at people new to the game and is always a friendly non-judgemental place to find stuff out.
HTH
I think the game has always been fairly confusing to newcomers. I started in TBC and had no idea what I was doing.
Guilds can help a great deal but finding a social guild is probably harder than finding a raiding guild IMO.
Newcomer chat is full of veterans who have volunteered to help out and they answer lots of questions from newcombers or returning veterans.
The forums also have a newcomer section where people ask questions but that isn’t so convenient when you want an immediate answer.
They should give an option, just before/after character creation, to ask if you want a linear experience (I.e. start from Vanilla and then go through expansions linearly) or their new-fangled skip approach. That wouldn’t solve the out-levelling places and one-shotting things.
Perhaps then if they included a sort of “Previously on WoW…” and gave a brief into to important people/events if new players are joining a random expansion like BFA with no context?
Yes, with trial account I tested different classes and races before buying the game this week hence starting the game. I tested pandaren rogue, goblin hunter, blood elf priest, night elf druid, undead warlock, orc warrior and human paladin so yes I have alot of mounts I guess.
As I suggested in your other thread: Please do yourself a favour and give Classic TBC a try!
I think it would be best if Blizzard allowed new players to level to max through the last expansion. They could get a cinematic on what has happened so far and Blizzard could extend it with each expansion. That way new players would be in the picture of WoW’s lore and they wouldn’t be dragged across two expansions as a levelling experience.
first of all the game is curently to hard for 95% of potential players.
try doing m12-13 atm and you will see what im talking abiout - its literaly hell on earth atm there because weak players get carried in lower keys end up with key above their skills and make life of other good players who cannot get into +15 hell .
blizzard tuned m+ nicely last tier - but ofc toxic elitest had to whine and complain - so this tier they overtuned them again making game unfun to play for nearly everyone normal .
Its not. On the highest difficulty? Probably. In general? No. Its not. WoW is still one of the most casual games.
12-13s arent an issue. At all.
Pugs differing in quality. Oh my. Ye clues in the name man. Doesnt change it tho that every single player of even your failed groups is capable of doing a 12-13 in given time.
This seasons M+ isnt anyway harder than the previous one. And it has just begun and still getting tuned.
The season just started. Stop crying like you always do 24/7 and actually play. Jesus christ.
You made an orc warrior on the Draenor server that is 100% proof you are not a new player.
