There’s an obvious and intentional loot system where you are basically incentivized to play more, where really good loot(i.e. trinkets and such) have a really low drop rate to keep you playing until the next patch and beyond. I’ve been doing every reset since the start of this patch and I’ve only seen a single DV drop. It’s a 11% drop rate, in a 15 year old game where most of the player population will complete and finish the hardest difficulty of the game on their main, and a lot of people on their alts with ease.
I’m going to cut to the chase. Increase the drop rate and the items dropped so people can enjoy their newly gained big d* items for a while longer. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but this is a huge reason why gdkps are so popular. No one wants to lose a roll or have someone else prioritized on an item that barely ever drops. If it’s intentional for those reasons as well, congrats you’re doing a good job at killing an another one of your games with your idiotic and greedy choices. Thanks for reading this rant that’ll never get read by anyone meaningful, or care enough to do something about it.
*edit: and guess what, a lot of people would explore the other branches of the game to use their newly acquired gear. This is healthy for the game. Maybe bgs will have more players than bots and arena queues will take less than 5 minutes and dungeon finder will have people in it.
No one wants to share or play as a team, knowing that loot is whole team effort not just yours even if you are top dps. If you think otherwise try killing any raid boss of Wrath alone… Well maybe a BDK can kill some bosses of Naxx allready, but you get the point.
Loot system was poorly rewarding in Vanilla raids, when you had 3 items per 40ppl in raid drop and loot was class specific, so GL if Alliance didn’t had shamans with shaman tier pieces and Horde with paladin ones. Oh and considering all raid full of rogues and warriors good luck with their tier sets too.
Ever since t4 we had 4 pieces per boss for 25 ppl, but Ulduar HM loot system broke that. After couple of months everyone got every 232 piece they wanted and hunt for 252 items begun, reducing usefull loot pool to only 1 item for 25ppl from a loot table that can have 5-6 items. Phase 3 should had have if not difficulty nerf then at least making so loot in HM kill was HM quality.
On top of that Blizzard also killed 25ppl normals with changes to the Ulduar loot in phase 3. There are now way too many easier and faster sources of 232 gear than in 25ppl Ulduar and 245 gear in TOGC in a faster and easier raid.
If they just made ulduar hard mode kills drop only hard mode loot, that would solve all complaints surely?
Easiest simplest fix, with normal loot available on 10m and normal 25.
I must be forgetting something important, that they would make it easier to get a legendary weapon, but not touch hardmode loot at all.
I can bring same argument of legendary weapon that shouldn’t be handled to plate melee in normal 25ppl ICC, however it is what it is.
Same goes for Valanir, why someone in phase 2 could get it only for normals never killing any boss in HM? Except for Yogg+1, that 30 Valanir pieces owner could simply be carried on.
Ah yes, the loot system that incentivizes you to play more is contributing to the death of the game, because the game absolutely would not die if everyone would get their full bis in a month and unsubbed until next patch. Flawless logic.
They could add a sidereal-like system with some outrageous prices, where it would take like 5+ full clears to collect enough for one hm item. That would make the items on average as rare as the drops are, but everyone could work toward that one piece they are missing.
In fact, that would encourage gameplay more than anything. I did more beta dungeons in the 3 weeks after the sidereals were added than I did heroics in all of wrath before probably, including gearing and daily emblem farm.
Yes. People get burnt out. Main reason most people are still and have always been playing wow is to have their character grow stronger so they can tackle the hardest difficulty in the current patch and the next better and faster. No one likes feeling like they are being strung along especially not in a 15 year old game where the hardest difficulty lies in speed runs and arenas, and that’s where you need bis gear to keep up against equal opponents. If you are a competitive player you are going to continue playing regardless of having the best gear in the game. If you are a casual you will quit regardless of getting valanyr.
I think my wording was confusing there, I don’t care that people get Valanyr on normals, I was referencing that blizzard buffed the drop rate on the legendary weapon, and left other loot untouched.
Buffing drop rate on Yogg and Algalon means nothing if you can’t get DPS who do not need Valanir into you SR or MS/OS raid. Most DPS just prefer going to GDKP where healers on our ream pay 4-10K for a 1/30 pieces, making Valanir cost around 120000-300000 gold. I saw the stats on our GDKPs discords.
All this because Blizzard screwed normal 25 Ulduar runs. Maybe that was the plan really so only GDKPs could sell legendary quest items?
Yeah, that sounds OK, but it won’t be enough for these people. They are already complaining that sidereals make them play the game and they don’t want to.
Trinket that says +stats isn’t special. Its just very, very good, because the number is high, if the number was low, you wouldn’t say it was special.
Your raid group could get 1 every week until the end of the xpac, thats not special, its RNG.
GDKPs are the best loot system that the game wasn’t prepared for by devs at the time, nor do the current devs care.
You can’t remove [GDKPs], just like you can’t remove [selling items in trade chat], or [selling boost services].
They are apart of the game because they fit so well and there really isn’t anything you can do that could “remove” it.
In the scenario where Blizzard does their job nobody would be calling for GDKPs to be removed. People just fell down to the next easier solution to the RMT problem, because they know Blizzard isn’t going to put any effort into a solution that actually requires it.
