Was never really hyped for pvp in vanilla, and tbh I play classic because of old world, mechanics, classes and nostalagia, for me vanilla wow was always prime wow content. I started playing wow early WOTLK and remember having blast in Eastern Kingdoms/Kalimdor and never really know a lot about that vanilla honor system. Can someone tell me what is point of this right now? Rewards are not really great and potential grind is insane. I literally stopped giving f…k (and my character from retail is Khan/Bloodthirsty, so I really like pvp, can you imagine?), gonna buy mount with discount after getting rank 3 last week and that’s it. Cba to grind lowbies and zerg soloers, what is f…ing point and where is fun in it?

There is no fun in vanilla ranking system, at least for most people. The rewards are pretty good though, so the incentive is there.

The rewards are itemized to 1.11. For warriors for example this gear is comparable to AQ40 set, the weapons aren’t replaced until Naxxramas, even when naxx is out you’d still consider at least 2 set R12/13 to be bis.

The rank 12-14 pvp gear is on the same level as ahn qiraj gear.

Yeah the ranking system is complete garbage, this is not news to anyone. To say the rewards aren’t even that good is just wrong though.

I really enjoyed it tbh - I used to love logging in on a Wednesday morning to see if i’d ranked up. Only those that took it too seriously seemed to dislike it so much

I think the system is great. It is just built around BGs so we need them for the honor system start working as intended. Currently Horde is camping the world as they simply have the numbers so they are using them. And most Allies stopped playing mains to prevent them to get the edge. But once BGs are out, I will farm more honors first day than they farmed in a week so tbh I find it a waste of time what they are doing since it must be terribly boring.
That’s correct. Honor system is built around BGs. In vanilla they were supposed to launch at the same time, but they were not ready and they made the mistake to anyway get the Honor System out while rushing full blast to wrap up BGs.
That Blizz made the same mistake now AGAIN is beyond me. Sure, #nochanges and all, but that’s just idiocy if you ask me.

Then enlight me please! Horde raids getting like 1 CP per kill killing occasional alliance players at flying points… yeah it must be trully very effective… but wait - they mostly farm people at the entrance of dungeons and FPs so… killing honorless targets…

The amount of honor you get doesn’t actually matter
He obviously doesn’t know what he’s talking about. What’s going on now is pure idiocy. Yes, they will be a bit ahead of the others but the difference is so minor it’s negligible at best.
But whatever, when they are so sure they “know best”, when they obviously don’t, just ignore and leave them all happy in their delusions.
I know when BGs are out I can easily catch up without having wasted one minute in brainless FP camping and zerging around.

I will be rank 8 by the time BG’s are released. Someone at rank 0 (or even as high as rank 6) could literally be earning some absurdly impossible amount of honor, like a trillion honor an hour, 24 hours a day for the entire week once BG’s are out, without getting to rank 8 that week.

If narcind is in br1 the guy getting 1 trillion honor a week will be getting 1k more honor per week than narcind, or 20%of a rank (before decay ofc). Hypotheticly narcind could be getting 15hk and 1k honor a week, if he was br1 he would still get r14 before the guy getting 1 trillion a week
