Aren’t vanilla wow was filled with bots too? #nochanges
Agreed. Private server crack down on bots because they don’t pay 13 a month. That is the difference between blizz and a priv server.
So as long as the bots make blizzard money and most people are not bothered, nothing will happen.
As long as there aren’t 2 people unsubbing for every bot, expressly stating they are unsubbing because of bot infestation, Blizzard has no incemtive to act. You have to realize that things like professional integrity, pride in ones wotk or normal human shame no longer applies to them. They are a soul-less, profit driven corporation now. Only thing that matter is quarterly growth.
Where do I write the reason after I already unsubbed? For both the empty classic servers and the bots that make it impossible to do quests?
Because I have seen private servers that were harder on bot cracking.
Dunno, last time I unsubbed (from 6 month plan to 1 month), it asked me for a reason on the Blizzard web site.
Ahhh, no I unsub after everytime I buy playtime. So I can’t forget it.
I love WoW classic it is my second favorite game, I like professions, crafting, farming, challenge and danger, because I do not like games where you hold my hand or walk like in a park.
I have 8000 hours in the indie game Galactic Survival for € 19.99. Free MP, also updates, and always new content lol. So yes it should be better service, and higher requirements for 12.99 € a month.
Let’s get real, the moment blizz starts selling gold like in Retail the bots will go away. This thing alone will defeat the bots, like it did in Retail. Will it be good for classic? I believe there are upsides but also a lot of downsides, since Vanilla is built around ‘being poor’, unless you nolife ofc.
They have the capability to ban bots on a weekly if not daily bases. Instead they wait every 6 months - but we all know why they do this.
I partially agree.
I think it’s a nice option now that you can run older content solo. (People only do things that have an incentive, and otherwise tend to complain about the lack of content, which is objectively funny. The only benefit of old content is raw cash, as opposed to current content where you can also find valuable BoP.)
On the other hand, with the 50 normalisation I hope that players will be able to queue up for absolutely every dungeon, except premium (60) content. Raids are a bit trickier, particularly outside of peak hours.
I don’t know how the economy will work at 50, but being able to run 70 dungeons at 80 was a bonus as I was able to help my other characters through BC professions even when auction house wasn’t particularly helpful. E.g. I would earn plenty of Runecloth & Netherweave to craft, disenchant and enchant.
In any event, removing bots should be sort of a priority, I agree.
If anybody wants to fiddle with it for legitimate reasons, I believe setting up your own little server is part of the challenge of said reason (learning, framework for academic studies, developing AI, etc.).
The only reason I could condone botting is that with the cash being generated, certain things become affordable. People on servers I play were by and large poor, auctions hardly selling above vendor price, even 60% mounts being a premium, stuff like that.
