I don’t think people calling out blatant selfishness is the same as ‘getting offended’.
All of the ‘yeah but it’s so easy it only requires DPS’ crowd: if so, let’s have it as an instance which takes any roles in the queue (like some previous events). So long as it remains 3-1-1, however, those who game it to satisfy their own self-importance can kindly go and chew on fel fire.

For dungeon/small instance LFG content, perhaps respec could be available only if tank or healer is not filled? (So if tank or healer leaves, DPS can change to that spec until the group finder adds someone.)
I accept it’s a moot point when it comes to organised group content, which I figure is what Blizzard care about, so I doubt it would attract any dev resource…

I would be happy if the game pushed you into the role (and filled your mana bar…). I ended up healing it once last week as shadow by not noticing I was in the wrong spec. I had logged off as shadow not disc and forgotten. It wasn’t a problem but I did feel a bit guilty and I have been more careful since.
the rank 1 title does not mean much especially if you play a meta class and you are full bis.
The truth is, you don’t realize all the fraud pala prot, aug, dk frost, shaman at 3400
if you play a meta comp you must be at 3500 minimum, otherwise there are things that are not going well
I just made an ara 16 there, the pala tank does not even understand the principle of bloodguard (with the debuf -50% dmgs).
The first boss is the same, he did not know the eggs and boss placement(he die 3 time and priest aug 1 time), the elem had really bad dmgs too. But they all had 3400+
This isn’t a hard concept to grasp. Those people are higher rated (therefore in most cases better) than 99.9% of the people in this game.
Sure they can always be better, they aren’t perfect. But to say they aren’t good when statistically they are top 0.1% is just absurd. Learn what words mean.
I didn’t say it was bad (compared to average), but they’re not good for 0.1% either
I know players who play non-meta classes (war/lock/monk) with a much higher level
That’s what I meant
anyway mm+ after the meta, it’s a lot, a lot of playing time, let’s not lie to ourselves.
I dream that he puts back dungeons with a speedrun type format, (with a gear fix), I would find that much more interesting
It is rough now coz it hurts a lot more. Healers dont even heal!
I’d be fine with being only able to accept the queue ping when you are on the spec the Dungeon Finder has chosen for you. And not being able to switch back after entering the dungeon.
Haha! I could clear that instance with a blindfold.
Locking players in to their chosen specs?
So you mean if the tank leaves in a dungeon but you have two druids with guardian as offspec, you’re still screwed?
Lol.
Game should change you into the spec you have queue for the dungeon automatically. Once you are inside maybe there should be the choice to change spec for example to change to tank when there is none in the group when you have enter as DPS. But the spec should be changed by default.
It is not just for the people who don’t change spec. There are other occasion (probably not in this event) in wich you queue but the group puts you in combat before having time to change spec
In short : Yes.
As long you got either the tank or healer still in your group, there’s usually a quick replacement coming for the other.
And if, by chance, you get both of them leaving … then something was wrong with that group from the beginning.

Or not. They could just lock the spec only when the group is full. Allow changing spec if a tank or heal is missing in LFG/LFR but if all neccesary tanks/heals are in the group no one can’t change from the spec they queued.
Also it should be great to allow a player to change their asigned spec mid dungeon/raid. For example if tank is missing I could either remain queing as DPS but change to tank temporarily until a tank joins…or I could change my queue spec to tank and then we only need to wait for a DPS
What happen if a Druid/pala decides to queue as all 3?
You are designated your role when the dungeon pops. That doesn’t change.
Misunderstood your message.
Thought you meant if you que tank you are locked tank while the que is going as well and can’t switch to dps unless you leave que

Ago I queued as alt healer. When one druid had resto spec. Like we got two healers…
What happens if I queue on my paladin as DPS, so I’m locked to ret, but the tank then leaves, and now we have no tank?
There are reasons why locking spec has never happened.
That said DPS queuing as healers / tanks is annoying.
