So much for the conviction of your words then. Pfft.
I remember when the Guardian news website went from being UK focused to what we would now call Aukus (Australia, UK and US) focused a few years ago. The first casualty was the CiF section where there were regular debate threads on difficult and sometimes controversial religious and ethical matters. They never explained why they dropped that section, but I believe it was to pander to the US editorial team. Next, we saw a move towards what I call left-libertarianism with its hard-line, simplistic approach to certain complex, challenging topics. The paper became less tolerant of different opinions within the left-leaning sphere (again in the US team, by all accounts) and some left-leaning employees were forced out because they werenât the right kind of left-leaning.
I think this is what we are now seeing in Blizz. The chaos caused by the unchallenged frat culture has opened the door for some employees with a near-puritanical approach to left-wing politics. Stuff that isnât actually offensive is being removed along with genuinely problematic content because the puritans have decided that only their opinion matters. This monoculture is not only alienating players on the right of politics but is also starting to alienate some of those in the center and even some who would call themselves soft left.
Hard to take any of the current devs seriously when theyâre all MORE arrogant than the people that actually made the game people enjoyed and absolutely hate player feedback.
Classes still play awful, though with the aoe cap changes and the like things might feel a bit better again. But I honestly donât have much hope because a bunch of the current devs favorite characters are Sylvanas and they âenjoyâ changes like these being made to the game which make zero sense and detract from the game more than anything else.
Itâs also very hypocritical they will censor, hide women in areas of the game but now theyâre ADDING more men into the game wearing very little.
Wows playerbase going downhill since wotlk with âdevs opinionâ pretty much self explanatory.
Devs opinion are most of time utterly garbage and a wet disgrace.
If they have opinion they should log into their game and SUBMIT SUGGESTION in game or post in game forums, as a normal players do.
The developers are not listening to feedback even on the PTR. Which is a formal source of feedback. Forums/youtube/twitch are informal, yes, but they donât respect the time of people when they try to suggest some viable improvements.
I had a suggestion to reduce health of rares in korthia by x10 to test the new drop rates for archivist codex and to provide a covenant campaign skip to be able to freely test covenant abilities (cause ATM, the covenant soulbinds are locked on the PTR until you do the campaign, where is the logic?).
Also streamers from youtube/twitch have proposed how to balance covenants: just use the simumation addon and buff/nerf all abilities so they will give a +/- 10% simulation on patchwerk, on 5-mobs swarm, 10-mobs swarm etc. This can be done even before PTR. But was never done in the first place. And this is a 100% automated issue which does not require tons of manual testing.
Then add another coefficient mask for PVP for each ability, this adjustment can be done during first weeks of a patch. I mean, these are common sense solutions. Punishment for a covenant change looks as the opposite common sense. And excusing the covenant rigid system as âit was innitially supposed to get rig of the restriction(which is a total lie)â in the 9.1.5 blue post looks like the person who wrote that was MCed by NâZoth.
The worst part about this is we canât just blame the higher ups or the CEOâs anymore. These are the Devs, given free reign to make all the changes they want to the game in the wake of the lawsuit and THIS is what they chose to do.
Like Iâm sorry but the Team 2 developers are contemptible, fragile little snowflakes who should ideally be replaced.
Can no longer blame Bobby, sadge.
This actually makes perfect sense. The harem was never for him. He didnât care for it as he only had feelings for Tyrande. It was for his followers, which the Illidan book described I think. Among those followers, youâd likely have straight guys, gay guys, straight women⊠and many more. Get my point already?
This pretty much summarized it perfectly. Illidan had an eternal love for Tyrande. Which I find very romantic! And having a harem/court does not mean he personally used it.
And why would they when it is 80% âYOU SUCK!â
Blizzard âOK thatâs constructive. Anyhing else?â
â⊠STOP COVERING UP WOMEN!!â
Blizzard âWhat you mean those crudely drawn pieces of wall art that you would have to really work hard at to get excited by?â
â⊠YOUâRE REMOVING EMOTES!!â
Blizzard âNo⊠We are just removing the ability for you to spit on other players. Nor are we removing /kiss or /fart. You just read that on the internet and swallowed it.â
âYEAH WELL. YOU SUCK!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!â
Blizzard âThanks again for your valuable input. Now if you donât mind, weâd rather listen to the other 20 percent who actually DO provide good feedback in a calm, reasonable and thoughtful way, you just donât want to hear about the 20 percentâ
âTHEYâRE JUST BLIZZ FANBOY SHILLS!!â
Blizzard âBlessâŠâ
And they will be replaced.
We been asking a long time for maw skip
blizzard just ignored us there excuse was yeah soon
Then the lawsuit happend and they paniced and decided to finally give us the maw skip
All this censorship is because they are panicking
Players are leaving
and no one cares about a painting of a good looking woman Or these succubus in black temple
This is hypocrisy. If you read the forums carefully, there are lotâs of constructive feedback. âYOU SUCKâ is more clickbaitable, yes. But there are a lot of constructive feedback which is not processed at all.
Which is why we have all the following:
Buying flying at Max Level.
High Elves.
Account Wide Rep.
Cross Faction gameplay.
Covenants separated from power progression.
No more borrowed power systems.
Solo queue for Arena.
Loosened Transmog restrictions.
Legacy Buff x10.
oh wait, no we donâtâŠ
Last time I cancelled my sub was when they announced flying was going. They responded to the lose of money due to this game direction. Had they not responded to this lose of revenue they might have made a game that you would love to play but not sure how long that would have lasted. You and the three dozen other people could have kept the game going with ÂŁ50,000 a month sub maybe.
Better he used it. That âromanticâ kind of behaviour is a shame IRL, and such role models should teach guys how NOT to act, because such behavior causes much pain in their lifes.
Youâre getting them in 9.1.5, letâs not pretend those blonde fair-skinned elves are still void elves.
Wait a second, since whenâs Illidan supposed to be a role model? Heâs been a villain at his worst and an anti-hero at best.
Calling you a fanboy would be an insult to word âfanboyâ - youâre something even worseâŠ
Simply - instead making so much awful timegates, systems on top of the systems, mandatory pointless content, why they COULDNâT JUST FIX AND IMPROVE ALREADY EXISTING PROFESSIONS SYSTEM? Itâs ages behind and the best idea they have come up with is RANKS xD
When he told khadgar to hold his beer and then brought argus to us.
Because they are the players playing the developerâs game. Also known as âThe Customerâ
As a wise one-eyed Yakuza once said: Customer is King.
So if your customers arenât happy with something, the approach shouldnât be âWell Iâm happy with it, ergo no changes neededâ, it should be âPerhaps I should see what is wrong why people arenât happy.â
More often than not no.
Rare has this exact same approach with Sea of Thieves, and that game has a serious player retention problem and more or less stays afloat on a model of constantly circulating players going in and out of the game, but only a few actually staying.
It also has a community that hates itself which does the gameâs image no good either.
Okay, let me try and properly articulate to you how your logic is flawed in thinking that you should just leave developers to make their game and ignore all player input/sentiment.
When Final Fantasy 14 (Yes I will keep bringing the game up because itâs awesome and I hate you) first released, the game was a poorly designed and terrible game. People were not happy with it and made their sentiments clear.
If Square Enix decided to just âNot pay any attentionâ to the people who bought their game and decided to just roll with what they made, then we wouldnât see them making an apology for the gameâs release, or have A Realm Reborn being a reality.
Why do you think Iâm here talking so much about Final Fantasy and so fondly of it too?
Believe it or not, but people would like to see these games be good, so they could probably play it and enjoy it, maybe even bring other people in as well.
Likely realizing that âWoke progressive videogamesâ are something that only a tiny fraction of people would actually genuinely want to play.
Then maybe they shouldâve paid attention to player feedback before it lead to that, donât you think so?
